Note This paper is of two hundred marks containing four sections. Candidates are required to attempt the questions contained in these sections according to the detailed instructions given therein.

SECTION I



Note This section consists two essay type questions of twenty marks each, to be answered in about five hundred words each. ×
20 40 marks)

1. Discuss the features of the UN Convention on the protection of Human Rights of Refugees.

2. Discuss the important features of Islamic Declaration of Human Rights and compare it with UDHR 1948.

3. Discuss the importance of 'Human Rights Education' in India.

4. Discuss the impact of Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights Agreement, 1995 on Patent Law in India.

5. Write an essay on Globalization, Liberalization and Privatization of Indian Economy and Human Rights in Information Age.

6. Critically analyse the role of NGOs and Protection of Human Rights relating to Land Acquisition of Farmer's in India.


SECTION II

Note This section contains three questions of fifteen marks each, to be answered in about three hundred words. ×

SECTION IV

Note This section contains five questions of five marks each based on the following passage. Each question should be answered in about thirty words. ×

19. Answer the below questions according to the passage.

To make the human rights a reality for the sections of society without any discrimination of whatsoever, it is necessary that steps should be taken to sensitize the authorities who are the protector of those rights and who are expected to play their designated role, viz., the civil servants, judicial officers, police, para-military forces, etc. to change their mind-set and be made aware of their duties in protecting and enforcing the human rights. For this education of human rights at all levels will be very significant, starting from the school-level. Youths and educators should be trained to contribute constructively towards the protection of human rights and acquire necessary skills and professional knowledge in their sphere of work. This requires properly structured courses that are carried out effectively to create salutary impact to improve the quality of response of the concerned persons in a given human rights situation and human rights culture.
The enforcement agencies, like judiciary, police and armed forces should be exposed to discussions and training courses on human rights through seminars/symposia/collogiums which should be organized on a regular basis of these agencies."
