The scarcity of trained and skilled staff in the Indian Museums is, however, serious problem. The Museums Association of India has held special Seminars to create awareness amongst museum personnel. A number of two year courses in Museology leading to a degree or diploma are offered by the Baroda, Banaras, Aliggharh, Bhopal and Calcutta Universities. A few short term comes are also arranged by some of the bigger institutions, like the National Museum, New Delhi, Salarjung Museums, Hyderabad and the Government Museum, Chennai to provide inservice traing to their staff members. The Department of Culture has also been arranging consumer camps to train the junior staff. The salarjung museum is planning to run an in-service training course for one year in collaboration with Osmania University, Hyderabad.
