2. Jurisdiction in cyber space is a complex issue and the Information Technology Act, 2000
provides for extra territorial jurisdiction. Is it enforceable? What are the issues involved in
cyber jurisdiction? (Marks 10)
3. Explain on the following: (Marks 5x2=10)
a. Cyber Contraventions and cyber offences.
b. The process of communication involving electronic records between an originator
and an addressee.
4. "Although the Information Technology Act, 2000 has adapted the definition of obscenity
from the Indian Penal Code, 1860, it would not be easy to implement such provisions
judicially as obscenity in electronic form is far more widespread and involves many
complexities". Comment. (Marks 10)
5. Explain the concept 'Right to privacy' in cyberspace. Critically analyze the efficacy of the
Information Technology Act, 2000. (Marks 10)
6. What is meant by the term 'Electronic Governance'? Discuss some Electronic Governance
initiatives undertaken by various State Governments in India. Also elucidate whether the
Information Technology Act, 2000 provides limited Electronic Governance. (Marks 10)
7. a. Explain the liability of an Intermediary. (Marks 05)
b. Discuss, stating reasons, which of the following can fall in the category of an
Intermediary:
i. Cyber café
ii. ISP
iii. Certifying Authorities
