Note: Answer any TWO questions out of three.
The number of marks carried by each question is indicated at the end of the question.
1. "Criminal law is an index of civilization because it is sensitive to the changes in social structure and reflects mental fiber of a given society. What conduct should be made criminal depends not only on the question whether the conduct is moral or immoral but also on the considerations of the possibility of its implementation through the legal machinery."
In the light of the above statement discuss the importance of criminology and its inter- relationship with criminal law and criminal policy of a state. (Marks 10)
2. Discuss the fundamental tenets of classical school of criminology. How do you distinguish between classical school of criminology and positive school of criminology? (Marks 10)
3. "Criminal behavior is learnt and not inherited. The process of learning criminal behavior operates through interaction of the criminal with other persons and his association with others."
In the light of the above statement discuss the psychological concept of crime causation. Elucidate through suitable example as to how psychological depravity arises and becomes causal factor for crime. (Marks 10)
