1. What is the contingency approach in management? Write briefly about the recent contributions
in the sphere of management thought.
What is behavioral and human relations approach particularly with respect to Elton Mayo and
Hawthrone studies? Mention the criticism it has received.
2. List out major universal principles of management which are aimed at showing managers how to
carry out their functional duties as propounded by Henry Fayol.
Discuss management as a practice like all other professions as medicine, accountancy and
engineering.

3. Mentioning about the basic types of decisions, bring clear meaning of each of the type.
