1. Answer the question in about 600 words:

Explaining the features of Inductive and Deductive methods, comment on the following statement: 'Inductive and Deductive methods of acquiring knowledge seem to be contradictory to each other but they are at the same time complementary to each other'.
OR
What are the steps of scientific method? Explain. Critically analyse its scope in conducting educational research.

2. Answer the following question in about 600 words:

Explain the meaning of experimental research with the help of an experimental design. Also describe the various ways of controlling extraneous variables in experimental research.
OR
Differentiate between an evaluative survey and a descriptive normative survey. Also provide a roadmap for conducting a descriptive survey.

3. Answer any four of the following in about 150 words each

Differentiate between stratified random sampling and quota sampling.

Discuss in brief the needs of reviewing related Literature in research.

Many of the limitations of questionnaire can be overcome by conducting an interview. Comment.

Formulating hypothesis is not necessary for all types of research. Comment.

Mention at least five qualities of a good research report with a brief justification of each of them.

Define Standard Deviation. If is added in each of the scores of a distribution having S.D 10.5, what will be the S.D of the new distribution?

4. Answer the following question in about 600 words:

According to you, what are the thrust areas in education in which more researches should be carried out? Also give a justification for your preference. Select any two of these areas and formulate at least three research problems in each area on which you feel that researches should be carried out on priority basis.
