LAB III — ORACLE AND VISUAL BASIC
Time Three hours Maximum 100 marks
ONE question is given to each candidate by LOT system.
Each question has two subdivisions.
1. Write a VB program to compute and print either
SUM of the PRODUCT of the first N numbers.
Create table BIODATA with all necessary fields.
Perform the following in oracle.
Add 5 records
Delete all B.Sc. degree holders and display the
contents.
Display all records having AGE>20 and CITY
is CHENNAI.
2. Write a VB program that allows the user's choice
among four arithmetic operations of addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division with two
given numbers.
Create table ADDRESS with name, street, city,
pin code as fields and do the following.
Add the field DISTRICT
Fill all DISTRICT with MADURAI
Display the structure of records.

3. Write a VB program to do temperature conversion
from C to F and from F to C at user's choice using
label.
Create table MARK with Reg.No., Name, TAMIL,
ENGLISH, MATHS and BIOLOGY fields.
Perform the following
Show data in fields REGNO, NAME, TAMIL
BIOLOGY alone on the screen.
Display the sum of TAMIL BIOLOGY
marks.
Include 5 more records in a table.
4. Write a VB program to calculate simple and
compound Internet using three command buttons
Input, calculate and display.
Create table PAY with relevant fields and do the
following.
Fill DA with 60% of Basic pay
Fill HRA with 500 for all employees
Calculate GPAY as the sum of the Basicpay,
DA and HRA.
5. Write a VB program to display the day of the given
Date and convert upper case from lower case to
given word.
Create table SALES with necessary fields.
Display the records with commission >=2000
Display average sales and average commission
for a particular month.
Display all records.

6. Write a VB program to compute the surface area
and volume of a sphere for a given radius.

and average. Do the following in oracle.
Display the maximum marks in each subject.
Display the minimum marks in each subject.
Find the number of students who have secured
more than AVG is 80.
7. Write a VB program to print twenty address label of
your choice in two-column format.
Create table PERSONAL with NAME, CITY,
DISTRICT, STATE, PINCODE and PHONE field
and do the following.
Display all names without duplicate.
Display all names in uppercase, lowercase and
initial capital letters.
Display the records with length of names.

8. Write a VB program to read in principal, number of
years and rate of interest through INPUT boxes,
calculate simple and compound interest.
Create table BLOOD to denote the relevant
information about the donors in a hospital along
with the address of the donor. Perform the following
in oracle
Find the number of female donors
Count the number of donors who have donated
blood.
Display donors details whose age is between
30 and 40.
