Note: Answer any TWO questions out of three. All questions carry equal marks.
1. Explain all the three basic criteria required for the patentability of an invention, as mentioned under section of the Patent Act,1970 with applicable case laws. (Marks 10)
2. Analyse the following for their patentability by mentioning the applicable provisions of the (Marks 2.5×4=10)
a. A method for effect introductions with a view to making new friends.
b. A floor mill provided with sieving means.
c. An improved method of producing roses more quickly.
d. Cyclohexystyrene when isohexyl styrene is known.
3. Answer the following questions:- (Marks 2.5×4=10)
a. Explain the role of PLT agreement.
b. Explain the concept of 'Transition Period' adopted by TRIPs agreement.
c. Identify and describe the international convention for'deposit of microorganism'.
d. The Paris convention for the protection of industrial property is the first agreement on the bedrock of which TRIPS principle is framed but there are many more things in TRIPS which are not there in Paris convention. Explain.
