1. Explain the following passages with special reference to the context.
Surely some revelation is at hand
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert.
Gentile or Jew
O you who turn the wheel and look to windward

2. Give a brief sketch of the use of Irish myth and folklore by W.B Yeats in his poems.
3. Show that the realism-an awareness of the fact of life, is the major concern of W.B.
Yeats in Among School Children.
4. Explain the historical and cultural background of The Waste Land.
5. Critically analyse the theme of The Waste Land.
6. Discuss the theme of lack of spirituality and humanity in modern man in the poem

8. Write a critical appreciation of the poem "The Thought-Fox".
9. Write a note on the political views of Heaney as expressed in his poetry.
10. Write a note on symbolism in the poetry of Sylvia Plath.
