1. Explain compass error with a neat diagram and an
example.

List all the rules which may applicable in sight of
one another.
2. Name two types of charts with respect to the
projections. List the advantage and disadvantage of
Mercator charts.

Differentiate small scale and medium scale charts
and also name the categories of chart.
3. What is meant by chart datum? If height of the tide
is given as 3.5 m and charted depth is as marked as
4.5 what is the actual depth at the mark?
