1. Write about the following. (All the five questions are compulsory) [5x5=25]

a. Describe causes manifestations of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)
b. What is cardiac tamponade
c. Describe septicemic shock
d. What is Guillain Barre Syndrome?
e. Describe types clinical features of COPD

2. Attempt any one. Both questions carry equal marks.

a. Write detail about different modes of mechanical ventilation. Describe their use in appropriate clinical settings. [15]

OR

b. Describe various cardiac arrhythmias completing the clinical course of critically ill patients in ICU. How will you treat prevent those arrhythmias. [15]

b. Write clinical features and treatment of pulmonary embolism
c. Causes and treatment of ventricular tachycardia
d. Short note on Urinary Tract Infection
e. Ventilar associated pneumonia clinical feature and management

a. Describe various metabolic complications seen during the care of critically ill patients. Suggest their treatment and prevention. [15]

b. How will you wean off a patient of COPD from ventilator? Describe possible challenges and their solutions. [15]
