1. Examine the main features of pastoral nomadism with special reference to social structures and economy of pastoral nomads?
2. Discuss the factors that led to the emergence of urbanization during the Bronze Age. Did technology play a role in it
3. Analyse the essential features of the institution of slavery in ancient Greece.
4. Write a brief note on the polity and society of the Mayan civilization. Why and how did it collapse?
5. Discuss the polity, society and religion in Arabia before the rise and spread of Islam.

6. Compare and examine the agricultural production in the two phases of feudalism in Europe.
7. Analyse how the Portuguese became the first Europeans to establish their hold over Indian Ocean trade.
8. Give a brief account of factors that give rise to Protestantism in 15th and 16th centuries.
9. Trace the growth of urbanization in the medieval period.
10. Write short notes on any two of the following in about 250 words each: 10+10
