Time: 3 hours Maximum Marks: 100 (Weightage
Note: This paper consists of two sections, A and B. Answer any two questions from Section A and any three questions from Section B. All questions carry equal marks.
SECTION A
1. Narration plays a more important part in radio than in films or television. Do you agree Give reasons for your answer. 20
2. A radio talk should have certain essential features such as clarity, informality and communicability. Elaborate with examples. 20
3. Discuss the basic similarities between television and films. 20
4. What are some of the basic rules for scripting television programmes for children? Explain.
5. Write short notes on any two of the following: 2x10=20
Radio Profile
Importance of dialogue in a radio play
Ingredients of a video magazine
Difference between TV and other media
SECTION B
6. Write PSAs to be broadcast over radio on any two of the following: 2x10=20
Say "NO" to drugs
Communal harmony
Caring for the aged
7. You are a radio reporter and have been sent to interview some working women in their hostel on the topic "How Safe Do Women Feel in Cities". Write out ten questions that you would ask them and then write out the answers that various women give you, based on their experiences, so that a graphic picture emerges of whether they feel safe or unsafe. 20
8. Write a radio feature on "Are Old Age Homes a Good Idea Take a definitive stand for or against the topic. 20
9. Write out a script for a TV documentary for teenagers (14 -17 years) on "A healthy mind resides in a healthy body". Write visuals on the left side and accompanying narration and SFXs in the middle and extreme right respectively. 20
10. Imagine that you are a TV reporter and have been sent to the site of the devastation caused by excessive rain in the Uttarakhand region. Prepare a running commentary for TV on your experiences there. Suggest visuals and write the text for a five-minute commentary.
