DCE-2 FEATURE WRITING
Time: 3 hours Maximum Marks: 100 (Weightage
Note: This paper has two sections, A and B. Attempt five questions in all, choosing at least two from each section. All questions carry equal marks.
SECTION A
1. Write short notes on any two of the following: (200 words each) 2x10=20
Importance of interview in writing feature articles. Briefly elucidate the preparation and conduct of the interview.
Evaluative Judgement of Literary Writings
Different kinds of Travel Writing
2. What are the essential points to be followed to make writing on women's issues serious journalism? (450 words)
3. Discuss with examples 'Successful Techniques of Travel Writing'. (450 words) 20
4. A reviewer of a book should have knowledge of other books written by the author or other books of the same genre. Discuss. (450 words).. 20
5. Prepare a questionnaire for an interview with a Minister for Social Justice on the evils of dowry. (450 words) 20

9. Attempt a book review of any book you have recently read. (450 words) 20
10. Comment on the following paragraph in your capacity as a book reviewer. (450 words) 20
"Mr. Krishnan was a senior officer in the government. Everything about him testified to the fact. He was neat and tidy. He was meticulous and organized. He was careful with his words and money. He was deliberate and restrained and almost slow in his reactions. It did not matter whether the question was about the next major change in the country's environment policy or simply about the best flight to take to Geneva. His mind, trained through thirty-three years of a demanding bureaucratic career, would go through the.automatic process of weighing the pros against the cons, and the decision, mature and well considered, would eventually present itself."
