Note: This question paper has three sections. The students have to attempt any two questions in about 500 words each from Section any four questions in about 250 words eaclJ, from Section II and any two short notes in about 100 words each from Section Ill. The marks are mentioned against each question.

8. Critically analyse the Mughal-Maratha relations in the seventeenth century. 12

9. Discuss the methods of land-revenue assessment under the Mughals. 12

10. What are food crops, cash crops and oil-yielding crops? Discuss their relative importance. 12

11. Critically examine the rise of Deccani powers in the 16th -17th centuries. 12

12. Discuss the emergence of successor states during the eighteenth century. 12
