W A L K I N I N T E R V I E W for engaging Project Fellow on Contract

The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging Project Fellow for Project entitled Diet, foraging behavior and habitat factors affecting breeding success of riverine island-nesting birds in the National Chambal Sanctuary purely on contractual basis for a period of one year. The EQ, DQ and other details of the project is as provided below :

Essential Qualification (EQ)

Masters degree in Life Sciences/ Wildlife Science /Zoology/ Botany/ Forestry/Ecology/Environmental Sciences with 60% aggregated marks and above from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualification (DQ)

Preference will be given to candidates willing to carry out rigorous field work under harsh conditions. Prior experience of research in ornithology will be an added advantage.

Work description

The Project Fellow is required to carry out primary data collection on nesting biology of four focal bird species as well as fish community structure and their abundance, undertake surveys in National Chambal Sanctuary to identify key nesting sites and determine nest site selection through GIS based analysis. The project fellow is also required to analyze the data prepare the project report.

Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules.

General Conditions

1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 28th November, 2017 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.
2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications along with certificate of extracurricular activities; date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
