Advertisement for Project Fellow in a SERB (DST) sponsored project

Applications are invited for the post of Project Fellow/ JRF in the SERB sponsored project titled Social tendencies of free-ranging dogs in different human habitats Testing the domestication hypothesis, at the Behaviour and Ecology Lab, Department of Biological Sciences, IISER Kolkata. This project will involve extensive travel and field work in different parts of India, often in remote areas.

Position: Project Fellow/ JRF

Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- + HRA. HRA will be provided in the case of non-availability of

hostel facility on campus.

Duration: 1 year, to be renewed strictly based on performance.

Eligibility: (i) First Class in MSc in Life Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Zoology, with CSIR NET JRF or equivalent qualification, and/or a valid GATE score.

(ii) Knowledge of basic statistics and mathematics.

(iii) Experience of field work in animal behaviour/ ecology with mammals.

(iv)

Candidates with experience in working with dogs would be preferred.

(v)

Essential qualification: Should not be afraid of dogs.
