Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow

National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Mohali, is an autonomous R&D Institute under Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Food & Nutrition Biotechnology Division of NABI has received NER-BPMC, Department of Biotechnology, sponsored joint research project with North Eastern Hill University, Shillong and Panjab University and applications are invited for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF, one position) under externally funded project Metagenomic and Functional Characterization of Soy-based Fermented Food Products from North-East Region

Description of the Project:-

The project aims at (a) metabolite profiling of popular soy based fermented foods from NER; (b) develop animal models to understand molecular nutritional/nutrigenomic effects of dietary intervention of the fermented foods and (c) develop a process to take fermented food production from house hold level to commercial level.

Sponsoring agency: Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India.

Position available: One JRF

Duration: 2017-2020 (Three Years) Selected candidate will work as JRF for the first two years followed by one year as Senior Research Fellow (SRF). JRF will be encouraged to apply for the Ph.D program at the Panjab University as per the MOU.

The JRF will be hired as per the emoluments guidelines and service conditions notified by DST (DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014).

Desirable:- Preferance will be given to candidates having qualification in any of the National Exams, good academic record, research skills and experience in working with rodents models. NABI may or may not select candidate depending upon the suitability of the candidate to carry out high quality research.

Accommodation: Students registered for Ph.D. program will also be provided with the newly built in campus hostel facility.

Application and Selection Process: All interested candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute located at Knowledge city Sector-81, Mohali-140308 on 21st March, 2017 at 09:00 AM along-with duly filled application form available on the website www.nabi.res.in . The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of registration at NABI from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM on 21st March, 2017. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with full CV, thesis/project report, publications and original degree certificates and transcripts. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
