Advertisement for the Post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (On Contract)

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (on contract) in research project entitled Investigations on Chalcogenide Photodetectors in reference to the sanction letter no. of File No. ECR/2016/001950 dated: 09.10.2017 by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi-110070. The duly completed application on prescribed format along with copies of supporting documents must reach to Dr. Sunny Sharma, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Room No. 2106, Computer Centre1, Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad, Deoghat, Jhalwa, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh 211015 on or before 30/11/2017. The envelope should be super scribed as Application for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (on contract) in the Research Project Investigations on Chalcogenide Photodetectors. Title of the Project: Investigations on Chalcogenide Photodetectors Name of Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Number of Position : 01 (one) Project Duration : Three (03) Years Age Limit: Maximum 35 Years as on 01/01/2018. ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: Potential candidates should have M.E./M.Tech. in VLSI/ECE/Material Sci. Engg./Nanotechnology with 60% marks.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION:

1. Candidates with who have valid GATE/NET (JRF)/equivalent score are preferable.
2. Furthermore, the applicant should have sound Device simulation understanding/ practical knowledge of basic thin film fabrication steps/ thin film surface characterizations/ interaction of radiation with matter at nanoscale dimensions etc.
3. Experience of simulations with Device Simulator/Lumerical software is preferable. Fellowship: 25,000/-pm (Fixed) for two years and 28,000/-pm (Fixed) for third year.

3. Mere, possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate would be called for Interview. The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit and need of the project.
4. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by e-mail about the interview date. So, the candidate must provide valid E-mail IDs in their applications.
5. Shortlisted candidates have to present themselves for the interview on the interview date with updated CV and original and attested photocopies of mark sheets/certificates in support of their academic qualifications.
6. Applicants in employment (private, government or any other organization) are required to submit a No Objection Certificate from the employer at the time of interview.
7. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
8. The first and foremost responsibility of the candidate is to fulfil the jobs requirements to complete the above mentioned project in timely manner.
9. The association between PI and the candidate can be discontinued at any time by giving one months notice in writing either by the PI of the project to candidate, or by candidate to the PI of the project.
10. Candidate selected for this position may also apply for the regular PhD program in ECE Department, provided he/she satisfies the eligibility criterion followed by selection process laid down by the Institute.
11. After qualifying the PhD admission / selection test the candidate will be registered as regular PhD scholar and eligible to draw the fellowship and other allowances as per the Institute rules.
12. The candidates who have already applied for the PhD admission in the department of ECE for January 2018 batch and willing to join as JRF are required to complete the application form (annexure-I) and send to sunnys@iiita.ac.in.
