National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) is a key functionary of Indian Space Research Organization Striving to realize the Indian Space Vision through Earth Observation. It is responsible for the Ground Segment of Remote Sensing Programme through satellite data acquisition, archival, processing, dissemination, Remote Sensing Applications, Training and Capacity Building. It also provides Aerial services in the civilian Sector for the country.

RS02 06 B.E / B.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Candidates with experience in one or more of the following fields: database design / database administration / enterprise database/ spatial databases / database security / software development using OO languages/ J2EE/ MS.Net / GIS database design/ Client server & web architectures will be preferred. Knowledge in Geoserver, Mapserver / system, network & security administration, object oriented programming, GIS / RDMBS, UML, XML, PHP, open layers, JQuery, AJAX, Python and free/open source GIS products will be an added advantage
Junior Research Fellows
JRF 01 4 ME / M.Tech or its Equivalent in Water Resources / Hydrology / Hydraulics / Irrigation/ Agricultural Engineering / Soil & Water Conservation Engineering / Remote Sensing & GIS with B.E./ B. Tech in Civil / Agricultural / Environmental Engineering. Experience in satellite image interpretation / satellite data analysis / computer programming

JRF 05 1 M. Tech. in Geophysics/ Geology/ Environmental Geomatics after B.E. / B. Tech / MSc Knowledge in computer programming, statistics, knowledge in field mapping for ground water assessment
JRF 06 1 M.E / M.Tech or its Equivalent in Geoinformatics / Environmental Engineering / Remote Sensing after B.E. / B. Tech / MSc (Or) M.Sc in Geography with NET or Equivalent Qualification 1. Experience in Remote Sensing data analysis & Geospatial Information Processing. 2. Knowledge of computer programming.
JRF 07 * 1 M.Sc. (Agriculture) in Agril Chemistry & Soil Science / Agronomy (with soil science as a subject) with NET Knowledge in Soil Analysis / Geoinformatics / spatial data analysis.

NET/NET Equivalent qualifications:

Any national level examinations conducted by the Central Government departments / agencies for admission to Ph.D. programme are considered equivalent to NET. The following are the list of examinations, which can be equated to NET:

i. CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test including NET-Lecturership
ii. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by MHRD
iii. Joint Admission Test (JAM) conducted by MHRD
iv. Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) conducted by MHRD
v. Biotechnology Eligibility Test & Test conducted in Bio-informatics by Bio-informatics National
Consortium.
vi. Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology &
Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS) conducted by the Department of Atomic Energy.
vii. JRF Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research.
viii. All India Competitive Examination (AICE) conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

Eligibility criteria:

Research Scientists:

BE/B.Tech should be in First Class with an aggregate of 65% (Average of all semesters) or CGPA of 6.5 on 10 Point scale

Junior Research Fellows:

M.Tech or equivalent degree should be in First class with an aggregate minimum of 60% or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 Point scale or equivalent and pre-eligibility qualification of BE/B.Tech/B.Sc., (Engg) or equivalent should also be in First Class with an aggregate of 65% (Average of all semesters) or CGPA of 6.5 on 10 Point scale

M.Sc. or equivalent degree should be in First class with aggregate 65% marks as average of all semesters or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 point scale.

Age Limit:

Research Scientists: Maximum Age 35 years as on 18.12.2015 on the closing date of receipt of online applications but relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC candidates. Age relaxations as per Government of India orders are applicable to Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Widows, Divorced Women and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not remarried.

Junior Research Fellows: Maximum Age 28 years as on 18.12.2015 on the closing date of receipt of online applications but relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC candidates. Persons with Disabilities are eligible for age relaxation as per Govt. of India orders. Age relaxations as per Government of India orders are applicable to Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Widows, Divorced Women and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not remarried.

Emoluments:

Research Scientists `15,600-39,100 (PB3) with GP of `5400/+ DA as per Govt.of India norms. In addition, HRA at the prescribed rates in force at the place of posting will be paid.

Further, the selected candidates will be eligible for medical facility for self only and leave benefits as per rules of NRSC/ISRO applicable to them. Apart from this, the candidates selected will not be entitled to any benefits or concessions admissible to regular employees.

Selection Process:

The qualifications prescribed in this advertisement are the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible to be called for interview. There will be an initial screening based on the academic performance and other parameters given in the on-line applications and only those screened-in will be shortlisted for interview. The call letters for the interview to the short-listed candidates will be sent only by e-mail.

Place of Posting:

All the selected candidates will be posted at NRSC either at Balanagar or at Earth Station, Shadnagar excepting JRF07. The selected candidate for JRF07 will be posted at RRSC-C/NRSC, Nagpur. However, all the candidates selected are also liable to be posted to any place i.e. NRSC, Balanagar, ES Shadnagar and Regional Centres of NRSC, located in Bangalore, Nagpur, Kolkata and Jodhpur, as per the requirements.

Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

Applications will be received on-line only and all further communications will be made to the applicants through e-mail/NRSC website only. Therefore, the applicants are advised to check their e-mail and visit the NRSC website from time to time. NRSC will not take responsibility for non-receipt of intimation regarding call letter / any communication due to technical reasons or whatsoever to the candidates.

On-line registration is available in the website http://www.nrsc.gov.in from 10:00 hours on 28.11.15 to 23:59 hours on 18.12.2015 for registering applications.

Only passed candidates are eligible to apply. Students awaiting for final result need not to apply.

Any request for change of address/e-mail id for communication will NOT be entertained.

CGPA shall be converted into percentage of marks as per the candidates university norms.

Candidates belonging to OBC must submit a certificate specifically including the clause regarding exclusion from creamy layer which should be updated/valid at the time of submission of the application.

The engagement of Research Scientists is purely TEMPORARY and on CONTRACT basis. The duration of engagement would be initially for a period of ONE YEAR. Based on assessment of work and requirements of projects, their services are extendable for further periods. In any case, the maximum period of engagement of Research Scientists shall not exceed FIVE years, or completion of the project, whichever is earlier. No Increment shall be provided to in the pay scale to the candidates during the currency of the contract.

Research Scientists positions do not carry any claim whatsoever for regular appointments in NRSC/ISRO/DOS.

Junior Research Fellows will be engaged initially for ONE YEAR and is extendable for further periods based on assessment of their work and requirements of project. The maximum period of engagement of Junior Research Fellow shall not exceed FIVE years. The fellowship will not confer any claim or right for regular appointment in any of ISRO/DOS Centres.

Candidates called and attended for interview shall be reimbursed to and fro second-class train fare by the shortest route from the address given in the application to the place of interview.

Candidates called for interview will have to produce all relevant original documents in proof of details furnished in the on-line application along with a set of self-attested photocopies. Candidates who are already employed under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies have to produce the 'No Objection Certificate', in original, at the time of interview. In case the candidate fails to produce any of the above documents or

if any information furnished in the application is found to be wrong or false, the candidate will not be interviewed and TA will not be paid. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification. NRSC/ISRO reserves the right not to fill up all or any of the positions, if it so decides. No interim correspondence will be entertained.
