Period of appointment : 5 years (can be extended for another two years subject to a maximum of 7 years, not exceeding 70 years of age).

E.Q.:

A. (i) an eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the discipline of Social Sciences, i.e. Sociology/Political Science/History/Psychology/Economics and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

a) To focus on research and study on the literary and cultural contributions by the great saint and his disciples in the contextual relevance of today; b) To support on Research on the Neo-vaishnavite movement with special reference to Srimantra Sankaradeva. c) To support on study and research on the relevance of the contributions of Mahapurush Shrimanta Sankaradeva to the present Indian society; d) To educate new generations of students about Assam and its tradition & rich Culture; e) To spread the great works of the saint outside the periphery of Assam and the country; f) To produce scholars and researchers who will foster the great literary works of the saint; g) To lead doctoral and post- doctoral research in the field; h) To organise seminars and colloquia in various parts of the country and abroad.

ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturer/Assistant Professor conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause 4.4.1, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or the subsequent

Regulations if notified by the UGC, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant

Professor or equivalent positions in Universities /Colleges /Institutions.

Provided further, the award of degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.Dprogramme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;

b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;

c) Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;

d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal;

e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D work.

(a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Dean(Academic

Affairs)/Dean(University instructions).

(iv). NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

(ii) Registered as Nurse or Nurse and Midwife (RN or RN and RM) with State Nursing Council. (iii) Two and half years experience in minimum fifty bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualifications mentioned at II (i) above.

For Post Code: 4442(Occupational Therapist): E.Q.: I. Sc.,2. Degree/Diploma in Occupational/Physio-Occupational Therapy. D.Q.: Two years experience in a recognized hospital

AGE LIMIT: (For Group B & C (including erstwhile Group D) Posts) : (1) 18-30 years for general category; 18-35 years for SC/ST; and 18-33 for OBC; (2) 18-35 years for widows/divorced and women judicially separated from their husbands and not remarried (40 years for SC/ST); (3) No age bar for permanent employees of BHU; (4) 18-40 years where the requirement is post graduate/graduate qualifications and experience in the area of Professional/Technical/Research and Library; (5) Period spent on working against any post in the project/scheme or on contract/daily wage basis in BHU including broken period of service rendered as indicated above may also be taken into account for the purpose of age relaxation for appointment in regular establishment provided that one stretch of such service is for more than six months. For others age relaxation will be admissible as per Government of India rules. Assistant Teacher (PGT)

For Post Codes: (10101): Essential Qualification: a) Second Class Masters Degree in the relevant subject with not less than 50% marks from a recognized University. b) B.Ed. or its equivalent degree duly approved by NCTE from a recognized University. c) Competence to teach both through Hindi and English medium. D.Q.: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Age Limit: Maximum age limit for Assistant Teacher (PGT) is 40 years , relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. 10 years age relaxation for the post of Assistant Teacher (PGT) at par with KVS norms, is allowed over and above the prescribed limit in respect of Women candidates to promote women education and to attract them to teaching profession.

Selection process will consist of written test (85% marks) and interview (15% marks). 10 candidates per vacancy in order of merit based on the score obtained in the written test shall be called for interview.

Assistant Teacher (TGT)

For Post Codes: (20150): E.Q.: a) Second Class Bachelors Degree with not less than 50% marks in aggregate including elective subjects and language with B.Ed. or its equivalent Degree duly recognized by NCTE from a recognized University. The Combination of subjects as History, Geography, Economics and Political Science of which one must be either History or Geography. b) Pass in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by CBSE in accordance with Guidelines frame by the NCTE for the purpose. c) Competence to teach both through Hindi and English medium.

For Post Codes: (20151): E.Q.: Degree in Music from a recognized University.

For Post Codes : 20150, 20151 : D.Q.: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

General Instructions to the Candidates

1. Online mode of submission of applications shall be essential.

2. There is a separate online recruitment form for Group A, B & C and School teaching posts.

3. Applicants shall first register on the Recruitment & Assessment Cell portal on the BHU website, after which, they can fill up the prescribed electronic application form online.

4. Separate applications shall be submitted for different positions.

5. Before starting to fill up the form, please ensure keeping ready a digital copy of passport size photograph in JPEG format not exceeding 50 kb in file size and digital copy of signature not exceed 50KB, for up-loading.

6. Filling all mandatory fields is required to make your application complete.

7. Incomplete applications will not be considered and will be REJECTED.

8. While filling the online application, if your browser closes unexpectedly or if you are logged out, please use the login information sent to your email to login again.

9. In case of any technical problems, please send an email to recruitment@bhu.ac.in

10. There are several Tabs in your application. After completing each tab, you should click on Save and Proceed button to saving the information and move to the next tab. Completing all tabs is necessary. After filling all tabs, the candidate can finally submit his application. Please note that you cannot make any changes after that.

11. On successful submission, the applicant will come across a link to download a PDF of the application, which he/she will have to print and send to BHU after signing it and having it forwarded by his employer, if any, with the requisite application fee, so as to reach BHU by the last date.

12. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview. More stringent criteria including holding written test may be applied for short-listing the candidates to be called for interview. Applicants having higher qualification and merit or higher marks in the written test will be given preference in case of Group A posts.

13. The Ordinances governing the procedure to be followed by the Selection Committee may be seen on the portal of the Recruitment & Assessment Cell on the BHU website.

14. The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/ background and has suppressed the said information, then his/her services shall be terminated.

15. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without giving any reason. Any consequential vacancies arising at the time of interview may also be filled up from the available candidates. The University may, at its discretion, fill up any future vacancy belonging to Gen./SC/ST/OBC as per roster point out of the available candidates. The number of positions is thus open to change. The University may relax/review the qualification/ experience and age limit at its discretion at any stage and in case of candidates with exceptional merit.

16. A candidate belonging to any reserved category who desires to be considered for any unreserved post also besides the posts under reserved category, will have to submit separate forms for Unreserved posts and reserved posts.

17. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter, the University reserves right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate.

18. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final.

19. Applicants who are in employment should route their application through proper channel or should submit a "No Objection Certificate" from the employer prior to the interview, failing which they may not be considered further.

20. On successful submission of your form you can pay on- line application fee day of form submission on the next day and the applicant will get a link download a PDF on next day of fee payment, which he/she will have to print and send to BHU after signing it and having it forwarded by his employer, if any, enclosing therewith the copies of the relevant certificates and documents, so as to reach BHU by the last date.

21. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the minimum essential qualifications laid down in the advertisement.

22. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

23. No interim correspondence shall be entertained.

24. On the positions reserved for specially abled persons (OH, VI, HH), all the specially abled persons are requested to apply since if the designated category of specially abled person is not available, the post may be filled with other categories of specially abled candidates available to the extent of required number of their reserved posts.

25. 28.The selection is made as per merit on the basis of written examination for non-gazetted posts of Group B, C (including erstwhile Group D).
