Applications are invited from the candidates who are Domicile of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry and Lakshadweep Island for the post of Junior Assistant (Fire Service) NE4 at various airports in the above states in Southern Region. Total number of posts likely to be filled is 244 and the reservations are SC33, ST13, OBC70, UR128. The eligibility criteria for the posts is as follows:

I Age 18 to 30 years as on 13/08/2010 Relaxation: (i) 5 years for SC/ST (ii) 3 years for OBC (iii) Length of service extended by 3 yrs for Exservicemen.
II Educational Qualification I. A pass in 10+2 or equivalent from recognized University / Board as on 13/08/2010. II. Should possess valid heavy driving license as on 13/08/2010.
Desirable ITI/Subofficer Course/Experience in any Fire Service/BTC Course from AAI Fire Training Establishment.
Eye Sight Distance Vision 6/6 At Both Eyes Without Glasses. Near Vision N5 In Both Eyes Without Glasses. Colour Vision Should be Normal as determined by Ischiharas charts.
Height Not less than 167 cm.
Chest 81 cm normal. Minimum expansion 5 cms
III Physical Fitness (Relaxation by 3 cm in height / chest and proportionate relaxation in weight will be allowed for candidates belonging to hilly areas on production of bonafide certificates. However minimum chest expansion must be 5 cms).
Weight Not less than 55 Kg.
Hearing Normal
Speech Normal
Must not have undergone major operation by virtue of which his physical fitness to work in Fire Service has been impaired. Should be capable of undergoing physical strain for prolonged periods.
Disqualification Physical deformity, chronic diseases, colour blindness, night blindness, squint eye, flat foot, bow legs, knocking knee and refractive error will be considered as disqualification.
IV Pay scale Rs.5500140718016010060 and other allowances as per rules (under revision)

OTHER CONDITIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1 Appointment to above mentioned posts is subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions and successful passing of Basic Training Course for a period of four months.
2 During training, incumbent is entitled for stipend as per the rules.
3 The candidates will have to appear for test / interview at their own expenses. Only those candidates who are found physically fit will be allowed to appear in the written test. The candidates will be allowed to appear in driving test / physical endurance test subject to passing the written test. SC/ST candidates called for interview will be paid 2nd class rail fare as per rules.
4 The eligibility with regards to age, qualification, HMV license will be determined as on 13th August, 2010
5 Employees of Govt. / Public sector undertaking should forward the application through proper channel.
6 Canvassing in any manner and bringing outside influence shall make the candidature liable for rejection.
7 The authority reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for test / interview on the basis of any other norms decided by the authority at a later date
8 The management reserves the right / has the discretion not to fill any vacancy and to change the vacancy position depending upon the requirement.
9 Applications received after due date and incomplete applications shall be summarily liable to be rejected.

HOW TO APPLY:

1 Candidates fulfilling the above conditions may submit their application on plain paper in Hindi / English in the following format addressed to THE REGIONAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, Airports Authority of India, Southern Region, Chennai 600 027 ( the envelope should be superscripted by the name of the post applied for) along with a Demand Draft for Rs.100/(Rupees One Hundred only) [nonrefundable] drawn in favour of Airports Authority of India, payable at Chennai so as to reach on or before 27/08/2010. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees. The applications may also be downloaded from AAI website www.airportsindia.org.in.

2 The application should accompany the following documents: i)

Demand Draft for Rs.100/as explained above (other than SC/ST candidates) ii)

Four recent passport size photographs, one affixed on application duly attested in front and other three stapled and attested on backside. iii)

Attested photocopies of Certificates regarding Educational Qualification, Date of Birth, HMV license (full copy), proof of caste (wherever applicable), Bonafide Certificate for candidate belonging to hilly areas, etc.

3 The application must be complete in all respects failing which it will be summarily rejected and no communication shall be made in this regard.
