CORRIGENDUM TO NOTIFICATION NO.11/2017, DATED 09.05.2017

The commission in its Notification No. 11/2017 dated 09.05.2017 invited online application for the recruitment to the post of Tourist Officer included in Tamil Nadu General Service against 5 vacancies. In the said notification, the scheme of examination was notified as Preliminary Examination (objective type), Main Written Examination (Descriptive type) and Oral Test. Now, the Commission has decided to modify the scheme as direct Main Written Examination (Descriptive Type) and Oral Test to quicken the recruitment process on the request of the Department.

Consequent to the change in Scheme of Examination to Direct Main Examination (Descriptive type), the fee has also been revised to Rs. 200/-. Therefore, the applicants who have already applied and paid Rs. 100/- have to pay the additional fee of Rs. 100/through online within 10 days from the last date (between 21.06.2017 and before 30.06.2017). The Hall Ticket will not be hosted for those applicants who fail to pay the additional fee.

(ii) For Para 2 FEES shall be substituted as follows:

a) Registration Fee For One Time Registration (Revised with effect from 01.03.2017 vide G.O.(Ms).No.32, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (M) Department, dated 01.03.2017). Note Applicants who have already registered in One Time Registration system paying Rs.50/- before 01.03.2017 and those who have registered for One-Time Registration on or after 01.03.2017 by paying Rs.150/- are exempted from paying the registration fee for this recruitment. Rs.150/
b) Examination Fee Note The Examination fee should be paid at the time of submitting the online application for this recruitment if they are not eligible for the concession noted below. Rs.200/

(iii) In of para.7 SCHEME OF PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION, MAIN WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND ORAL TEST:- shall be substituted as follows:

In respect of Subject Paper and General Studies:

(i)
The Questions in Paper-I will be set in both English and Tamil. Questions in Paper-II and Paper-III will be set in English only.
(ii)
The applicants who have not appeared for any of the paper in the written examination will not be considered for selection even if they secure the minimum qualifying marks for selection.

(iii) The syllabus for the subjects Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III are available in Annexure-I to this Notification.

(iv) For Para 10 PROCEDURE OF SELECTION shall be substituted as follows:-

10. PROCEDURE OF SELECTION: Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination and (ii) Oral Test in the shape of an interview. Final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the Applicants at the Written Examination and Oral Test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments. Applicants appearance in the Written Examination and Oral Test is compulsory. An Applicant who has not appeared for the Written Examination or the Oral Test will not be considered for selection, even if he/she secures qualifying marks for selection.
