INTRODUCTION

Department of Chemistry, National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra is organising one week workshop on Molecules & Materials Technology: Interface with R&D and Industries (MMT-2017) during March 21-26, 2017. The Department of Chemistry has planned this one week workshop to facilitate the postgraduate, Research scholars and faculty members of the Department and other concerned to interact with eminent scientists of Premier Institutes of India (such as IITs/NITs/IIITs etc.), R&D labs (such as DRDO/CSIR/TBRL etc.) and Industries (such as IOCL/Ranbaxy/ Jubilant pharma etc.). The thought exchange platform would discuss the advances in the emerging areas of researches and the actual work required by the R&D and Industries. Some of the major area to be covered under this workshop are as follows:

ABOUT NIT KURUKSHETRA

National Institute of Technology, (Formerly Regional Engineering College, established in 1963) Kurukshetra is one among the foremost Institutes of National Importance imparting higher technical education in India. This Institute was conferred upon the status of Deemed University and declared an Institution of National Importance by MHRD, Govt. of India on June 6, 2007. Since then, it has been named as National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra. The famous tourist spots are Brahmasarovar, Jyotisar, Dharohar, Shek Chehlis Tomb, Panorma, Sannihit Sarovar, Kalpana Chawala Planitarium, etc. Kurukshetra is well connected with road and rail. It has a railway junction on the Delhi-Ambala section of the Northern Railway. It is about 160 kms apart from Delhi. The Institute is situated on the Pehowa Road, about 6 kms from the Kurukshetra Railway station. The nearest road junction is Pipli which is on the National Highway No.1 (Sher Shah Suri Marg). The Institute is about 10 kms from Pipli.

This registration fee will include registration kit, meals and tea during the sessions.

ACCOMMODATION

Limited accommodation is available in the Institute guest house and hostels on payment basis. There are good hotels nearby the Institute; reservation can be made in advance on request.

NOTE

No TA/DA will be paid to the participants. Participants will be selected on first-come-first serve basis up to a maximum of 30. The registration form, complete in all respects, duly forwarded by the Head of the Institution/Department, accompanied by demand draft (or receipt of online transfer) of requisite amount and a covering letter should reach on or before March 15, 2017. Registration fee is to be paid in advance through a crossed bank draft in favor of Director, NIT Kurukshetra payable at Kurukshetra.
