ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

National Institute of Technology Sikkim is one among the ten newly sanctioned NIT(s) by the Government of India in 2009 under the Eleventh Five Year Plan. It is established in the temporary campus in the Barfung Block, Ravangala, Subdivision of South Sikkim.

VISION

India has the capability and the responsibility to offer the World Science & Technology essentially with sustainability, through philosophy, conscience and value system. NIT Sikkim will play its role.

To develop the students as Thinking Engineers by nurturing them in attaining the technical and scientific excellence, global exposure and at the same time beholding the philosophy and the values for India and the world as a whole..

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR APPLICATION TO ADHOC FACULTY

Filled-in Applications (in pdf) in the specified format (available at www.nitsikkim.ac.in ) and sent by e-mail to registrar@nitsikkim.ac.in will only be considered. The subject of the e-mail should be Application for Adhoc Faculty_Name of the Dept.

Last date of submission of Filled-in Application (in pdf) through E-mail to the Registrar is 31st December, 2016.

Reservations are applicable as per Govt. of India norms.

Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for interview. In all matters, the decision of the institute will be final.

Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.

Shortlisted candidates for interview will be intimated though e-mail/mobile. No separate call letter for interview will be issued.

The shortlisted candidates are requested to report to the registrar for Interview as per the date mentioned against their respective Department/School. During the interview, candidates may be asked to give a presentation on a topic in their area of specialization.

No request for change of interview schedule shall be entertained.

No TA/DA shall be payable and the candidates are required to make necessary boarding and lodging arrangements on their own.

Selected candidates will be informed by e-mail/mobile and they are expected to join immediately, preferably by 18th January 2017.

Candidates who have completed Ph.D./M.Tech.in the academic year 2015-16 have to produce the Provisional Certificate at the time of interview, failing which they will not be considered for interview.

The candidates shortlisted for interview are required to bring the following documents in original for verification along with a copy of the application and one set of self-attested photocopy of the certificates and two latest passport size photographs.

(b) Date of Birth Certificate

(c) Marksheets of all semesters/years and Degree / Provisional certificate of Ph.D., PG, and UG Programmes.

(d) Caste / Community certificate

(e) Experience certificate

(f) Re-prints of research publications (1st page only)

(g) Any other information related to eligibility

Applications without complete information/supporting documents at the time of verification will be rejected.

3	Mechanical Engineering	Ph.D. / M.Tech. (Manufacturing, Thermal, Design, Industrial Engineering & Management). First Class at PG Level (60% or 6.5/10 CGPA).
4	Computer Science & Engineering	Ph.D. / M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent in the relevant branch of Engineering. First Class at PG Level (60% or 6.5/10 CGPA).
5	Electrical & Electronics Engineering	Ph.D. / M.Tech. (Power Systems/Power Electronics/ Instrumentation & control/ Industrial Power & Automation/HV Engg. or any other equivalent/relevant specialization in the field of Electrical Engineering). First Class at PG Level (60% or 6.5/10 CGPA).
6	Electronics & Communication Engineering	Ph.D. / M.Tech. (Communication and Signal Processing, Microelectronics & VLSI, Electronic Devices, Circuits, Electronic System Design, Microwave Engineering Antenna Theory). First Class at PG Level (60% or 6.5/10 CGPA).
7	Mathematics	Ph.D. in Mathematics/ Statistics. First Class both at PG Level (60% or 6.5/10 CGPA).
