Head Enterprise and Operational Risk Management

Role & Responsibilities

The Head-Enterprise and Operational Risk Management reporting to Head-Risk Management cum Group Chief Risk Officer of the Bank will be responsible for:

  • Implementing the Operational Risk Management Policy of the Bank so as to align it with the best International Risk Management practices.

  • Challenge the business processes so as to identify related risks and put optimum controls. Formulate and implement Risk Control and Self Assessment Program and Key Risk Indicator Program with an objective to reduce the Banks exposure to operational risk losses.

  • Build capital allocation model in SAS Operational Risk, as per AMA of Basel guidelines.

  • Put a framework for collating data, measuring and reporting enterprise risk of the Bank on an ongoing basis.

  • Motivate and train the Operational Risk Management team

  • Implement the guidance and expectation of the Top Management and Regulator

Job Specific Skills

  • Statistical concepts of analyzing Operational Risk data (frequency and severity) and developing capital VaR Model

  • Understanding of banking operation of a commercial bank and operational risk exposures

  • Identify, analyze, monitor and report Operational Risk attributable to systems, processes and people in the Bank and suggest remedial measures.

  • Identify, collate relevant data, analyze, monitor and report enterprise risk of the Bank

  • Build and lead the team of Operational Risk Management Cell

Educational Qualification

The candidate must be minimum graduate from a recognized university. Over and above the said qualification, the candidate must possess minimum one of the following qualifications, as well:

  • Financial Risk Management (FRM) from Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP)

  • Professional Risk Management (PRM) from Professional Risk Managers International Association (PRMIA)

  • Graduate in Statistics from a reputed Institute (ISI, IISc, IGIDR, etc.).

  • MBA with specialization in Banking and Finance

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience of working in a commercial Bank out of which minimum 3 years in operational risk / enterprise risk domain.

Profile

  • Understanding of guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India on Operational Risk related areas

  • In depth understanding of Risk Control and Self Assessment Programme, Key Risk Indicators Programme, Issue and Action Plan

  • Implementation of qualitative and quantitative requirements of Advanced Approaches of Basel II guidelines, on Operational Risk

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) so as to prepare and present notes and presentation to the Top Management, Committees, Board And Regulators

  • Understanding of data management, simulation techniques, transformation and aggregation skills. Proficiency with usage of statistical package (SAS and R are preferred), MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Word

  • Building / Understanding / Validation of Value at Risk capital models of Operational Risk Loss data on Internal and External Loss, Scenario Analysis, etc.

CTC Offered:

The Candidate will be selected on regular basis in the rank of Senior Management Grade / Scale-V.

Emoluments

At present, initial CTC at the initial level of Senior Management Grade/Scale V, including DA, Special Allowance, HRA, CCA and all perks and benefits, etc. as admissible as per rules of the Bank, in force from time to time is approximately ` 28,24,000/- per annum, in a Metropolitan Centre. Allowances may vary depending upon the place of posting. In addition, various other benefits like medical insurance coverage, other insurance, concessional staff loans, attractive terminal benefits (on retirement), LTC, Bank residential quarters in lieu of HRA, etc. are admissible.

Bank reserves the right to engage the candidate on contract basis if no such suitable candidate is found for selection on a regular basis. In such case, contractual engagement will be for 3 years with yearly performance review. Compensation will not be a limiting factor for the right candidate

and will be discussed on a case to case basis.
