Applications are invited from eliigible Indian citizens for the post of Research Associate at various grades (depending on ex xperience) and Project Assistant to work on a p project funded by MHRD, Govt. of India purely y on a temporary basis for an initial period of o one year with possibility of extension by maximmum of one more year depending on the availaability of fund and the performance of the selec cted candidate.

Interested candidates are adviseded to report to the office of the Physics Departtment on 28^th January, 2019 along with their uup to date curriculum vitae and copies of all a academic and technical degrees/diplomas, exp perience, publications, etc. Candidates should also bring at least one reference letter from so omeone who has known them academically or pprofessionally for more than a year. The candi idates will be working on one of the core areas s of interest of the Centre of Excellence in Advanc anced Materials as detailed below:

1. Experience in nanostructured semiconductor and carbon materials for energy y applications including supercapacitors, batter ries, solar cells, photoelectrochemical hydrogen n generation
   
   
2. Experience in nanostructured materials for gas/VOC sensors.
   
   
3. Phase transformation, metal m matrix composites
   
   
4. Heat treatment, Transient Liqui uid Phase (TLP) Diffusion Bonding
   
   
5. Corrosion Engineering, Bioma aterials and composites
   
   
6. Nanophotonics, Nonlinear Opt tics, Laser Physics, Photoluminescence
   
   
7. MD and FEM simulation of nanocanocomposites
   
   
8. Transport properties of polymerer nanocomposites
   
   
9. Multiferroic materials and theirr nanocomposites

Walk-in Interview

(depending on experience) and Rs. 22,000/-per month (consolidated) for PA

Eligibility criteria:

Essential (RA):

1. PhD. or having 3 years of research experience after M. Tech./ME in Physics, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or Engineering, or a discipline relevant to the research focus of the Centre
   
   
2. At least one publication as first author in an SCI-indexed journal resulting from the work carried out during PhD or post-M.Tech./ME research.
   
   

Essential (PA):

Postgraduate in Science/Engineering in a branch relevant to the areas of interest of the centre with at least one year of experience

Desirable:

• Strong academic background throughout
  
  
• Excellent oral and written communication skill in English
  
  
• Ability to work in a team
  
  
• Willingness to learn new skills
  
  

Other Terms and Conditions:

1. The position is purely temporary, and performance will be evaluated every three months.

1. Candidates called for interview should bring all the original mark-sheets, certificates etc.

4. The selected candidate may have to work outside the normal working hours and normal working days without additional incentives.
