NOTIFICATION FOR RECRUTIMENT TO THE POST OF RESEARCH

ASSOCIATE / JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW / PROJECT ASSISTANT ON

CONTRACT BASIS

Applications are invited from Indian Citizens who are natives/residents of the Union Territory of Puducherry for the posts of Research Associates/Junior Research Fellow/Project Assistant on purely contract basis for settin g up of State Climate Change Cell in the Union Territory of Puducherry in the Puducherry Pollution Control Committee, Puducherry (autonomous body) under the aegis of Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Puducherry.

  2. Candidates fulfilling the eligibilitycriteriashall submit the duly filled in application along with self attested copies of relev ant testimonials to the Member Secretary, Puducherry Pollution Control Committee, Puducherry, 3rd Floor, PHB building, Anna Nagar, Puducherry - 605 005 on or before I 9 -06-2017 at 5.45.P.M by registe red post with acknowledgement due.


    PROSPECTUS

    The candidates should read the prospect us ca refully before filling in the application and they should satisfy themselves that they fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed in the notification / prospectus in all respects.

    1. Name of the Post : RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (On Contract basis)

    2. Pay Band :Rs. 36,000 + 20% HRA

    3. Number of vacancies : One (General)

    4. Eligibility Conditions:

      1. EducationalQualification

        Ph.D. Degree in Science or Engineering

        (or)

        3 years of Research, Teaching and Design and development experience after M.E / M.Tech with at leas t one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
      2. Age limit: Between 18 and 30 years as on 19 .06. 2017 which is the last date of receipt of application by this Department through Notification. Age limit is relaxable in acco rdance with instructi o ns/o rders issue d by the Govt. of India/Govt. of Puduc herry from time to time

    5. Nativity/Residence & Communi ty Certificates:

      Candidates will be selected provisionally based on the information furnished by them in their applications. The selected candidates shall produce the required Nativity / Residence and Community Certificates obtained from the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Puducherry at the time of verification of orig inal certificates, failing which their provis ion al se lec tio n will automatically stands cancelled without any intimation.

  1. Mode of Recruitment:

    There shall be I 00% for selection, 85% shall be for marks obtained in Academic (50% for qualifyin g PG degree examinat io n, 20% Ph.D & 15 % for Paper Public atio n in Science c itatio n index journal) and 15 % for Empl oy ment Excha nge sen io rity. T he 50% marks on academic qualification shall be calculated as follows:-

    The weighted average of marks obtained by the candidate in Post Graduate in Science or Engineering shall be computed as follows:

    1. For every additional attempt made in pass ing Post Graduate Degree in Science or Engineering, five percentage of marks will be deducted from the overall marks obtained by the candidate.

    2. Even if the candidate acquired the qualification within the stipulated period of the course, but made additional attempt(s) either for passing or for improvement, five percentages of marks will be deducted for every additional attempt(s) madewithin that period.

    3. Arter deduction of marks for additional attempts as aforesaid , net marks o btaine d in Master' s Degree in Science or Eng in ee ring will be take n into co nsid e ration as the aggregate of the maximum uf marks in Master' s Degree in Science/ Enginee ring.

    4. There after it will be converted to a maximum of 50%

    5. In the case of certificate having grading only where no marks are availa ble, the Mid-value will be taken into account to arrive the marks after which deduction s hal l be made for add itiona l attempts if any, as aforesaid.

      (t) In the case of certificate having points to the maximum of ten, the points may be converted to hundred to arrive the marks after which deduction shall be made for additio na l attempts if any, as aforesaid.

  2. Cut off date for certificates:

    The certificate of Educationa l/ professional qualification issued upto I 9.06.20 1 7 o nly will be taken into account. Production of certificates issued after the date will not be entertained and the app licatio n will be summa rily rejected.

  3. Weightage for Employment Seniority:

    In addition to the academic marks commuted as said above, weightage shall be given to the seniority in Employ ment Exchange at the rate of 1. 5 marks for every completed year of registration in the Unio n Territory of Puducherry. The maximum marks shall be 1 5 at the rate of 1.5 marks per year for ten years to coun t backwards from the date for receipt of app lica tio n. While co mputing the mark s, the seniority shall be reckoned from the date of registration of Post Graduate in Science / Engin eering qualification.

  4. Last date for receipt of application:

    The filled in application should reach the Member Secretary, Puducherry Pollution Control Committee, Puducherry, Puducherry Housing Board Comp lex, 3 rd Floo r, Anna Nagar, Nellithope, Pud uc he rry-605005 on or before 1 9.06.20 1 7 at 5.45 P.M.

  5. Acknowledgement for receipt of application:

    Those who submit the application in person may collect an acknowledgment for receipt of application from the receipt section of this Department. It is adv is e d in the interest of applica nts that those who are sending the ir appli c ation by post may send it by registered post with acknow le dgement due, to avoid loss in transit.

  6. Special Advice:

    All the candidates are advised to submit separate application to the Department even though their names have been sponsored by the Employment Exchange . If the applicants desire to apply for more than one post, they should submit separate application forms.     1. Name of the Post : JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (on contract basis)

    4. Eligibility Conditions :

      1. Educational qualification:

        Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science with NET Qualification

        Or

        Graduate Degree in Profession al Course with NET Qualification

        Or

        Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course.
      2. Age Limit :

        Between 18 and 30 years as on 19 .06.20 17 which is the last date of receipt of application by this Department through Notification.. Age limit is relaxable in accordance with instruct ion s/orders issued by the Govt. of India/Govt. of Puducherry from time to time .

    In addition to the academic marks commuted as said a bove, Weightage shall be given to the seniority in Employment Exchange at the rate of I .5 ma rks for every completed year of registration in the Uni o n Territory of Puducherry. The maximum marks shall be 15 at the rate of

    1.5 marks per year for ten years to count backwards from the date for receipt of application. While computing the marks, the se nio rity shall be reckoned from the date of registratio n of PostGraduate in Science /Mathem atics or Degree in Engineering/Technology qua li fication .

  4. Last date for receipt of application:

    B.C.A. with 55% and above marks.
