Positions Available

Applications are invited, on plain paper, from suitable candidates for One (01) posts of Project Fellow (PF) in a DST sponsored research project entitled R&D Efforts by University Groups for INO Project at the Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi - 221005. The appointment will be on contract basis initially for a period of Two (02) year. The positions are co-terminus with the project. The selected candidates will have fair chance to spend a significant period of their tenure at various Institutions and Universities of India as well as the experimental site at Theni (Madurai).

Qualification and Experience for PF

For Project Fellow: The candidate must have completed M. Sc. in Physics with a minimum of 55% marks and age must be below 28 years (relaxation for 5 years for SC / ST / Physically Handicapped / Female candidates. All things being equal, SC / ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules. In addition to the minimum qualification, basic knowledge of Particle/Nuclear physics, C++ Programming language and working knowledge of UNIX will be an asset.

Pay

The selected candidates will be paid Rs. 8000/-p.m. (consolidated).
