To enable Faculty, Engineers, students of UG, PG & Research Scholars learn the basic fundamentals of automation. To acquaint aspiring engineers with the conceptual and practical knowledge of industrial Automation and the latest technologies being used to achieve industrial automation.

This workshop further focuses on:

Programmable logic controller generally known as PLC.

Different sensors, motors, actuators, valves, SCADA systems.

Introduction of DCS Integration engineering (Introduction of PCS7, Programming of PCS7 with Hands on Training)

PCS7 Controller - AS410 (Introduction and advantages, Application Interface to DCS, PLC Interface to DCS I/O interface to DCS, Multi process loop interface to DCS)

SIMIT (Introduction and Advantages, Applications Programming in SIMIT)

Automation PLC-SCADA (Introduction of PLC, Introduction of TIA, Programming of TIA, Introduction of SCADA, Programming of SCADA)

Motor Management system (Introduction of Motor Management - Simocode, S120, Switchgear, SIMOCODE interface to PLC, S120 drive interface to DCS)

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering has been set up in the academic year of 2016-17 with sanctioned intake capacity of 30 students in the undergraduate level. The B.Tech degree for the first batch of students would be awarded in 2020. The department with its state of the art laboratories, as well as young and dynamic faculty is involved in providing quality education at both UG and Ph.D levels.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

National Institute of Technology Nagaland, a premier institute of higher learning, is one of the thirty-one institutes established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The basic aim of the Institute is to provide quality technical education, conduct original research of high standards and provide leadership in technological innovations for industrial growth and primarily for enhancing the scope of technical education in the state of Nagaland.
