ADA is an Autonomous Organization under the Department of Defence Research & Development, Ministry of Defence (MOD), Government of India. ADA is entrusted with design & development of Air Force and Naval versions of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) and other programmes. LCA programme is a prestigious National Programme with more than 100 major work centres contributing towards this programme and is in the advanced stage. National Flight Test Centre (NFTC) is a constituent of ADA and is involved in Flight Testing, Planning, Management, establishing the ground facilities for Flight Testing, Monitoring etc.

ADA invites applications from highly skilled and dynamic officers from Indian Air Force / Indian Navy who are Released / due for release / those who can obtain release upon selection for filling up ONE post of Flight Test Engineer - II with a Minimum Basic Pay of Rs.1,18,500/- in Pay Level 13A. (corresponding to Pay Band (PB-4) Rs. 37,400-67,000 + Grade Pay Rs. 8,900/-)

Qualification and Experience Essential / Desirable for the post is as given below:

Nature and Area of Experience required

Essential:

  1. At least a Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Technology (any branch) from a recognized University.

  2. Qualified Flight Test Engineer in Fixed Wing (Mechanical) Stream.

(Certificate as issued by Indian Air Force / Indian Navy in Flight test Course.

Desirable:

Master's Degree in Engineering / Technology in any branch.

Essential: A Minimum 18 years of experience in Indian Air Force / Indian Navy out of which the candidate should have a minimum of 4 Years experience on flight testing on Prototype Fly-by- wire aircraft.

OR

Minimum 18 years of experience in Indian Air Force / Indian Navy out of which a minimum of 7 years experience in flight testing of fixed wing aircraft excluding production flight testing at IAF Base repair Depots (BRD). Candidates should preferably have experience of Flight Testing on Fly-by-wire Aircraft.

  1. Apart from the above, the candidates should practically demonstrate their knowledge on :

    1. flight testing of aircraft performance on fixed wing aircrafts

    2. fly-by-wire flight control systems and
    3. aircraft structures and modern aircraft systems.

Weightage will be given to candidates depending on the type and amount of: (i) flight trials conducted as Lead FTE and (ii) flying experience on flight test duties over fixed wing aircrafts.

Maximum age limit:

48 Years as on closing date of the online registration of application. (Relaxation in age depends on qualification and type of experience).

Medical Category:

A1G1 in Indian Air Force or its equivalent in Indian Navy and should be fit for flying in fighter aircraft. The FTE-II employed will be referred to Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM), Bangalore for periodic medical fitness check-up as carried out while in service as per rules.

Pay & Allowances :

  1. The FTE-II selected will be offered appointment on regular basis in ADA and will be governed by the provisions of Ex-servicemen (Re-employment in Central Civil Service and posts) Rules 1979 as amended from time to time. The pay will be fixed as per the provisions contained in DOPT OM No.3/1/85- Estt(P11) dated 31.07.1986 after deducting pension from the basic pay as per rules.

  2. Apart from pay, FTEs are entitled for regular allowances as applicable to Central Government employees and covered under Contributory Health Service Scheme (CHSS) of ADA. However, they are not entitled for FCS (Flexible Complementing Scheme), variable increments / incentives or any other benefits as applicable to the Scientist/Engineers of ADA.

  3. In addition to the regular allowances as mentioned above, FTEs are entitled to (i) Flying Pay (ii) Hazardous Flying Pay (iii) FTE Allowance

    (iv) Flying Kit Maintenance allowance and (v) Pre-Flight Meal Allowances at the rates as applicable to FTE(s) who are on deputation to ADA. The FTEs are also entitled for retention Incentive and Survival Benefit at approved rates.

  4. The FTEs are entitled to the above allowances / perk as long as they are medically fit for Flight Test Engineer duties. Payment of these allowances will be ceased with when found medically unfit for FTE duties.

  5. Perquisite like Leave Travel Concession, Children Education Allowance, Advance for PCs etc. are also admissible as applicable to ADA employees.

Insurance:

ADA will provide insurance coverage similar to FTEs who are on deputation to NFTC/ADA. This coverage will be ceased with when found medically unfit for FTE duties or when re-allocated with non-FTE duties.

Selection Procedure:

The applications will be screened by a committee based on age, qualification, experience, Medical Fitness, specialization, achievements in the relevant field etc. The short listed candidates will have to appear for a personal interview with Selection Committee-ADA, Bangalore. Candidates will be offered appointment as per the merit list restricting to the number of vacancies and qualifying criteria. The appointment will be subject to medical examination prescribed for the post.

General Instructions :

  3. The post is temporary but likely to continue.

  4. The applicants should ensure that they satisfy the eligibility criteria as on the closing date of online registration. The prescribed Essential Qualifications and Experience are bare minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview.

  5. One set of copies of the self-attested certificates in proof of qualifications and experience should be brought at the time of interview along with the application form; however, candidates will be required to produce all original certificates for verification.

  6. The selected candidates will be required to resign from the previous organization and will not be permitted to join ADA on lien / deputation basis. Their service in ADA will start afresh and previous service will not be counted for any service benefits.

  7. Outstation Candidates appearing for the interview are entitled for re-imbursement of train fare (second class fare from the place of residence to the place of interview), by shortest route on production of tickets.

  8. If any information furnished on-line found to be wrong, the candidates will not be interviewed and TA will not be paid.

  9. Candidates presently serving in Air Force/Navy are to forward their application through proper channel. Alternatively they are required to enclose a copy of the request letter addressed to their cadre controlling authority for No Objection Certificate and produce the NOC from Air HQ (VB)/IHQ(Navy) at the time of interview.

  10. Date for determining the eligibility of all candidates in every respect shall be the prescribed closing date for submission of on-line application.

  11. The applicants are advised to fill in all their particulars in the on-line application carefully as submission of wrong/incomplete information may lead to rejection through computer based shortlisting.

  12. Warning - Candidates will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of the information provided by them in their application. They must ensure that such information is true and correct. If at any subsequent stage or at the time of interview, any information given by them or any claim made by them in their on-line application is found to be false, their candidature will be liable to be rejected and they may be debarred either permanently or for a specified period by ADA for future selections.

  13. Selected candidates will be governed by the National Pension System applicable to Central Govt. employees appointed on or after 01.01.2004.

  14. Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India if considered necessary.

  15. The number of vacancies indicated above is tentative and may vary and ADA reserves the right to relax the experience in the case of highly deserving candidates. The decision of ADA in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application shall be final and no inquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or his/her agency.

  17. Applications/Registrations received after the closing date or otherwise incomplete may not be considered and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

How to Apply:

  1. Candidates are required to register their applications only on ADA website www.ada.gov.in.

  2. Upon successful submission of the application on-line, a system generated unique application number would be allotted which should be carefully preserved by the applicants alongwith a hard copy of the application for future reference.

  3. In addition to registration on website, candidates should forward a hard copy of the online application (downloaded from the given website) by Registered / Speed Post to :

    duly superscribing APPLICATION TO THE POST OF FTE - II : ADV-107 on top of an envelope of size 12 x 10 along with self-attested copies of all testimonials as documentary proof of age, educational and professional qualification, training/courses undergone, experience & medical category). The above documents should reach ADA within three weeks from closing date of online registration of applications on ADA web-site failing which the on-line registration of application is liable to be ignored.

  4. Candidates working in Government / Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous organizations/Joint Ventures/Armed forces must forward their applications through proper channel.

  5. Application Registration on ADA website will be accepted from 1000 hrs on 25 March 2017 upto 1000 hrs on 17 April 2017.

  6. The candidates are advised to submit the online application well in advance without waiting for the closing date.

  7. Application received through any other mode would not be accepted and will be summarily rejected.
