Applications from eligible candidates are invited up to 20th July, 2017 for the following posts at ICMR-National Institute for Research in Environmental Health (Indian Council of Medical Research) , Kamla Nehru Hospital Building, Gandhi Medical College Campus, Bhopal 462 001.

1. Scientist D (Medical): 5 Posts UR (one each in Ophthalmology, Pathology, Psychiatry, Gynaecology, Medicine)

Pay Level 12(VIIth CPC) - equivalent to pre-revised Pay Band-3:Rs.15600-39100 plus Rs.7600 GP

Essential qualifications:

(i) Postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in relevant subject with 5 years R & D/Teaching experience or Postgraduate Diploma in relevant subject with 6 years R&D/Teaching experience

OR

MBBS degree recognized by MCI with 8 years R & D/Teaching experience in the relevant subject after MBBS Degree

(ii) Out of the above, 2 years experience in a managerial position to handle R & D projects in a team effectively in a directing capacity

Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 years

Job requirements: Planning, designing, conducting and guiding independent laboratory and field based research projects and to develop and validate newer methodologies

2. Scientist C (Medical): 03 Posts - UR (one each in Ophthalmology, Paediatrics and Pathology)

Pay Level 11 (VIIth CPC) - equivalent to pre-revised Pay Band-3:Rs.15600-39100 plus Rs.6600 GP

Essential qualifications:

(i) Postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in relevant subject with 01 year R & D/Teaching experience or Postgraduate Diploma in relevant subject with 2 years R&D/Teaching experience

OR

MBBS degree recognized by MCI with 4 years R & D/Teaching experience in the relevant subject after MBBS Degree

Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years

Job requirements: Planning, designing, conducting and guiding independent laboratory and field based research projects.

3. Scientist B (Medical) (03 Posts: OBC (1) & UR (2). Out of the three, one Post is earmarked for the persons with disability (Orthopaedically handicapped)

Pay Level - 10 (VIIth CPC) - equivalent to pre-revised Pay Band-3:Rs.15600-39100 plus Rs.5400 GP

Essential Qualifications:

MBBS degree recognized by MCI with 2 years R & D/Teaching experience after MBBS degree

Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years

Job requirements: Planning, and conducting basic, translational and clinical research

4. Executive Engineer (Technical Officer C) Civil (01 Post) - UR

Pay Level - 11 (VIIth CPC) - equivalent to pre-revised Pay Band-3:Rs.15600-39100 plus Rs.6600 GP

Essential Qualifications:

B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University with six years experience preferably in a government office/PSU/Autonomous body/Statutory body

Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years

Job Requirements: To provide support in infrastructure development activities of the Institute and Estimation and execution of maintenance works

5. Accounts Officer (Junior Grade): (1 - Post) - UR

Pay Level - 07 (VIIth CPC) - equivalent to pre-revised Pay Band-2:Rs.9300-34800 plus Rs.4600 GP

Essential Qualifications:

(i) Three years Bachelors degree in any discipline

(ii) Five years regular service as Assistant in Pay level 06 of VII CPC

(equivalent to GP 4200 of VI CPC) including two years working experience in Finance/Accounts

Age Limit: Not exceeding 32 years

Job Requirements: The duties of Accounts Officer include pre-checking of bills to be presented to DDO, preparation of budget, compilation of accounts (including preparation of balance sheet), audit, scrutiny of financial proposals relating to purchase of stores, equipments, capital etc., tendering financial advice to the Director of the Institute. Should have knowledge of income tax rules and preparation of statements of TDS etc.

6. Technician A: (2 Posts - UR)

Pay Level 02 (VIIth CPC) - equivalent to pre-revised Pay Band-1:Rs.5200-20200 plus Rs.1900 GP

Essential qualifications:

10+2 in science subjects with one year Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology/Radiology Lab Technology.

Age limit: Not exceeding 28 years

Job Requirements: To undertake day-to-day assignments for laboratory/field work and provide assistance to the Scientists in their laboratory/field work related to scientific projects

General Clauses:

1. Method of Selection: Selection for Scientist D, Scientist C, Executive Engineer (Technical Officer C), Scientist B and Accounts Officer (Jr.Grade) will be through a written test and interview. However, for Technician A, only written test will be the basis for selection.

2. Age will be reckoned on closing date for receipt of application.

3. Age relaxation:

a) Relaxation in age to Government servants, persons with disability and SC/ST/OBC & Ex-Serviceman candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard will be applicable.

b) Departmental candidates possessing the requisite qualifications will be eligible to compete and there will be no age restriction in their case.

c) One time age relaxation is also allowed to candidates worked/working in long term projects of ICMR Institutes/Centers provided they meet essential qualifications and experience for the post.

4. ICMR-NIREH, Bhopal reserves the right to :

a) fix criteria for screening the applications so as to limit the number of candidates to be called for written test/interview.

b) increase/decrease the number of vacancies.

c) frame the panel for filling up future vacancies arising during the tenability of panel which is normally operative for one year.

d) fill up or not to fill up any of the advertised positions.

How to apply:

1. Application Form can be downloaded from the web site of ICMR-NIREH ( www.nireh.org ). Applicants should indicate the post applied for legibly on the first page of prescribed APPLICATION FORM and affix one passport size photograph. Application Form (hard copy only) accompanied with self attested copies of necessary suporting documents (degree, diploma, experience, caste certificate, proof for date of birth, NOC from present employer, etc.) should be sent in a sealed cover superscribing the post applied for on the envelope to Director, ICMR-National Institute for Research in Environmental Health (NIREH), Kamla Nehru Hospital Building, Gandhi Medical College Campus, Bhopal 462 001 through Regd. /Speed Post, latest by 20th July 2017 along with non refundable Application fee by Indian Postal Order/Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) for the posts at Sl.No. 1, 2, 3 & 4 and Rs. 300/- (Three Hundred) for posts at Sl.No. 5 & 6 payable to NIREH, Bhopal. SC /ST, Physically Handicapped (PH) and Women candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. The application fee is payable by all other candidates including ICMR employees.

2. Unsigned/Incomplete application or application without supportive documents, without requisite fee, application received late, application not in the prescribed format, application received by Fax/e-mail etc. will be summarily rejected. Separate application form should be used for each post. ICMR-NIREH will not be responsible for late receipt of application due to postal delay and no correspondance will be entertained in this regard.

3. Applications from employees working in Central/State Govt. departments/Public Sector Undertakings and Govt. funded research agencies must be forwarded through proper channel. Advance copies of application will be considered subject to the conditions that a No Objection Certificate from the employer is produced at the time of written test/personal discussion.

4. Any canvassing by by the candidate by himself or on his behalf or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/recruitment shall be considered as disqualification.

5. No TA / DA will be admissible to attend written test.

6. Date of written test / interview will be communicated to the eligible candidates through call letters and no enquiry in this regard will be entertained. Candidates are advised to visit ICMR-NIREH website time-to-time for knowing the curent status.

7. Any change in the address for communication should be intimated to NIREH by the candidate immediately.

8. OBC certificate for the purpose of age relaxation will mean PERSONS OF OBC CATEGORY NOT BELONGING TO CREAMY LAYER as defined in DOPTs O.M.No.36012/22/93-Estt (SCT), dated 8.9.1993, & modified vide O.M.No.36033/3/2004-Estt(Res), dated 9.3.2004 and 14.10.2008 and subsequently revised vide O.M.No.36035/1/2013-Estt.(Res.), dated 27.5.2013.

The closing date for receipt of application will be treated as the date of reckoning for OBC status of the candidate and also for assuming that the candidate does not fall in the Creamy Layer on the reckoning date. The candidate should furnish the relevant OBC certificate in the format prescribed for Govt. Job and furnish declaration. OBC candidate must, therefore, furnish valid and updated OBC certificate which should specifically include the clause regarding Exclusion from Creamy Layer in order to get age relaxation.
