MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Registrar - 01 (UR)

Pay Band : Rs. 37400-67000 (PB-4) with Grade Pay of Rs.10000/- Age limit for direct recruits : Preferably below 57 years

Essential Qualifications

Master's degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7 point scale from a recognized University/Institute.

Experience

  1. At least 15 years experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 7000/- and above or with 8 years of service in the AGP of Rs. 8000/- and above including Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration, or

  2. Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education, or

  3. 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or equivalent.

Desirable

  1. Qualification in area of Management / Engineering / Law.

  2. Experience in handling computerized administration/legal/financial/ establishment matters.

Deputation or on Contract basis

Officers under the Central / State Governments / Universities / Recognized Research Institutes or Institutes of national importance or Govt. laboratory or PSU:-

    1. Holding analogous post or
    2. With at least 3 years regular service in posts with GP of Rs. Rs. 8700/- as per 6th Central Pay Commission or equivalent; and
  1. Possessing educational qualification and experience as prescribed above.

Assistant Registrar - 03 (02 UR and 01 OBC)

Pay Band : Rs.15600-39100 (PB-3) with Grade Pay of Rs.5400/- Age : Not exceeding 35 years

Essential Qualifications

Executive Engineer (Civil) - 01 (UR)

Essential Qualifications

  1. First class degree or equivalent grade in Civil Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.

  2. 5 years experience in relevant field as Engineer / Asst. Engineer (in PB-3 and GP of Rs. 5400/-) from CPWD / State PWD or similar organized services / semi-Govt. / PSU / Statutory or Autonomous organization / Universities / reputed Institute or organizations under Central / State Govt.

Desirable

  1. Knowledge of Computer-aided Design (CAD) and latest Management Technology / other relevant software.

  2. Proven track record of handling projects / works in reputed organization of relevant magnitude and qualities.

  3. Experience of planning and execution of civil engineering works, Designing and estimation, construction management etc.

Assistant Engineer (Electrical) - 01 (SC)

Pay Band : Rs.9300-34800 (PB-2) with Grade Pay of Rs. 4600/- Age : Not exceeding 36 years

Essential Qualifications

First class Diploma in Engineering in relevant field with excellent academic record.

OR

Post-graduate degree in science or B.E./B.Tech in relevant field from a recognized University or Institute.

Desirable

Experience in handling substation operation and maintenance. HT/LT operation and maintenance.

Experience

6 years as Junior Engineer.

Deputy Librarian - 01 (OBC)

Pay Band : Rs.15600-39100; (PB-3) with Grade Pay of Rs. 8000/-

Age : Preferably below 45 years; age bar relaxed for employees of NIT serving as Assistant Librarian.

Essential Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in Library Science/Information Science / Documentation with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or at least 60% of the marks or its equivalent grade of 'B' in UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record.

  2. Ten years experience as an Assistant University Librarian/out of which at least 5 years to be in a post with AGP of Rs. 7000/- or an equivalent post.

  3. Experience of innovative Library Service and organization of published work and professional commitment, computerization of library.

Assistant Librarian - 01 (UR)

Pay Band : Rs.15600-39100 (PB-3) with Grade Pay of Rs. 6000/-

Age : Not exceeding 35 years; age bar not applicable to employees of NIT serving as Library and Information Assistant (Selection Gr.II) for at least 6 years with GP of Rs. 4800/-.

Essential Qualifications

Master's Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or at least 60% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with superior knowledge of computerized library service.

Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.

However, candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph. D degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D Degree) Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET / SLET / SET for recruitment and appointment Assistant Librarian.

Desirable

PG Diploma in Library Automation and Networking or PGDCA or equivalent.

Senior Medical Officer -01 (UR)

Pay Band : Rs.15600-39100; (PB-3) with Grade Pay of Rs. 7600 + NPA as per rules Age : Not exceeding 40 years

Essential Qualifications

MBBS Degree or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 (102 of 1956 ) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register

OR

Post Graduate qualification, preferably MD in General medicine from a reputed medical education institute.

Experience

Note

For MBBS degree holders experience of 5 years as Medical Officer in a hospital or dispensary.

  1. Bachelor degree from a recognized University/ Institute with 5 years experience in supervising position in Army/Central paramilitary Forces in Govt. organization/ educational /private organization.

  2. Preference will be given to the persons who have served in the Army/Central Paramilitary forces or such unformed services and possessing a valid Arms license.

Desirable

  1. Training and handling emergency situation like Fire Fighting Rescue Operation, Floods, Earthquake etc.

  2. Possessing a Diploma certificate in Security operations/fire safety and disaster manager from a University/Institute/ reputed organization.

Senior Scientific Officer- 02 (01 UR and 01 OBC)

Pay Band : Rs.15600-39100; (PB-3) with Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/- Age : Not exceeding 40 years

Essential

B.E/B. Tech. or M. Sc/ MCA Degree in relevant field with first class or equivalent grade ( 6.5 in 10 point scale) and consistently excellent academic record.

Experience

Ten years industrial research/ICT or other relevant experience with application so as to meet the needs of an NIT at least five years of which should be in the post carrying GP of Rs. 6600/- or equivalent post.

Scientific Officer - 01 (UR)

Pay Band : Rs.15600-39100; (PB-3) with Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/- Age : Not exceeding 35 years

Essential

  1. B.E/ B.Tech. or M. Sc/ MCA Degree in relevant field with first class or equivalent grade ( 6.5 in 10 point scale) and consistently excellent academic record.

    OR

  2. Employees of the Institute serving as Technical Asst. (Selection Gr. II) for at least 6 years (Grade Pay Rs. 4800/-) or higher in the institute in qualification or academic standard (Age bar not applicable; in relaxation in qualification or academic standard).

Desirable

Work experience in relevant field, e.g. maintenance of Scientific equipment, system administration, software development, fabrication and support to research.

General Instructions for the applicants.

  1. Separate application form should be submitted for each post.

  2. The candidates should submit their applications only on online mode latest by May 19, 2017. The link is available on the Institute website www.nitj.ac.in. Before submitting the application form the candidate may fill up the payment details. After filling the payment details, the candidate may submit application. Printout of the application form alongwith

    attested copies of the testimonials and bank draft to the Registrar, latest by May 29, 2017 upto 1700 hrs. Applications received after due date or found incomplete will not be considered. The photo may also be affixed on the printout copy.

  3. There is fee of Rs.500/- for each post. Demand Draft may be prepared in favour of Registrar, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar payable at Jalandhar. SC, ST & PwD candidates are exempted from registration fee. The candidates who have applied earlier in response to Advt. No.06 /2016 are required to apply afresh and they need not to pay the application fee again for the same (only the details of the fee submitted against previous advertisement mentioned above need to be filled). These candidates are required to attach photocopy of Demand Draft, if available, along with application and their application fee will be adjusted for the present application for the post applied earlier subject to fulfilling the eligibility conditions.

  4. The age limit and qualifications/experience etc. for all the posts shall be determined as on the last date of submission of application forms. Age relaxation and eligibility for SC/ST/OBC and PwD candidates is applicable as per Government of India norms.

  5. Candidates employed in Govt/Autonomous Bodies/PSUs service should send their applications through proper channel. In case, the original application routed through proper channel is likely to be delayed, a photocopy of the application should be sent in advance so as to reach before the prescribed last date. All such candidates are required to produce 'No Objection Certificate' at the time of interview.

  6. The Industry / Research experience should be in Government or Public Enterprise or National Laboratory. However, experience in Private Industry will be considered provided it is incorporated in the Indian Companies Act of 1956.

  7. Mere fulfillment of qualifications and experience requirements does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. The Institute may conduct written or Practical Tests for the posts where required and only those candidates who qualify the said tests will be called for interview. The NITJ reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of better/higher qualifications & experience.

  8. The appointment of selected candidates is subject to being found physically fit and sound in health for the services in the Institute which shall be examined through a medical examination by the Medical Board/Senior Medical Officer / Medical Officer of the Ins titute as the case may be. The medical examination may be undertaken before joining the post. Selected candidates will be on probation initially for two years which may be extended on unsatisfactory performance.

  9. Any application without required self attested copy of certificates/testimonials and without self attested copy of SC/ST/OBC and PwD certificate issued by the competent authority is liable to be rejected. Every candidate seeking reservation in central government posts and services as OBC candidate is required to submit a certificate confirming his/her status as OBC and also produce Non-creamy layer status issued by an authority mentioned in DOPT Office Memorandum No. 36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 15.11.1993. The Non-creamy Layer Certificate would be applicable to OBC candidates who covered under Income/Wealth Test criterion. The income limit is decided on the basis of income earned during three previous financial years preceding the year of appointment.

  10. All original documents will have to be produced at the time of interview for verification.

  11. The applicants are required to visit the Institute website regularly as any subsequent corrigendum/addendum etc. shall be published on the Institute website only.

  12. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview. The NITJ reserves the right to reject/withdraw any or all the applications/posts without assigning any reasons. The decision of the competent authority will be final in the matter of selection.
