Programmes positions offered by RCI-VAW, TISS March 2018

The Resource Centre for Interventions on Violence Against Women (RCI-VAW) has emerged & grown organically from three decades of work by Tata Institute of Social Sciences on violence against women (VAW) with Police, viz. the Special Cells for Women & Children. Key areas of work include interventions research, training/education, advocacy and programme design/implementation/management, which also requires strategic planning and resource management support. This has expanded in the past few years to larger VAW interventions work across the country, and the RCI-VAW has expanded its team accordingly. At present, the RCI-VAW is seeking suitable candidates for the positions of Programmes Coordinator, and Senior Programme Officer/Programme Officer/s to carry out the RCI-VAW's work across multiple States.

Candidates with experience of work on VAW issues, work with State institutions/programmes, and women candidates in particular, will be given preference. Advertisement will remain posted on Institute website till at least 30.04.2018 and applications will be received till suitable candidates are found and selected. Programmes Coordinator (1)

Essential criteria:

At least Masters degree in Social Work or any other Helping Professions/Social Science/Humanities subject or related areas with at least 8 years' work experience on/in programmes/services/interventions related to issues of women's rights/gender/sexuality/gender-in-governance in NGO/Governmental/quasi-academic/multi-or bilateral agency settings;

Some experience in/exposure to one/more of the following: programme-based financial management, intervention/evaluation/action-research, networking & advocacy, fundraising at a national/regional/Statelevel;

Willingness to be located full-time in Mumbai, travel & multi-task extensively, anchor & guide Programme Officers' work across States, work in feminist workplace environment, beyond '9-to-5 office' setting with varied groups of individuals;

Preference: M.A. In Social Work/MSW degree Extensive and/or in-depth experience in one/more of the following: PMET (programme monitoring, evaluation

& training), programme/project management, work on issues of VAW, women's rights/empowerment-based work with the State, advocacy, strategic writing & planning, feminist social work practice;

10 or more years of work experience in women-centered work with State systems. Renumeration is a consolidated monthly honorarium for contractual appointment, and will be in the range of INR 52,000/- - INR 60,000/- commensurate to selected candidate's experience.

Senior Programme Officer/Programme Officer (2 positions max. role & designation will be commensurate to experience & skills)

Essential criteria:

At least Masters degree in Social Work or any other Helping Professions/Social Science/Humanities subject or related areas with at least (a) 4 years' work experience for Programme Officer and (b) 6 years work experience for Senior Programme Officer -on/in programmes/services/interventions related to issues of women's rights/gender/ sexuality/gender-in-governance in NGO/Governmental/quasi-academic/multi-or bi-lateral agency settings;

Some experience in/exposure to one/more of the following: Work with/on crisis-intervention/violence against women and/or work with State systems in particular, project management, intervention/action-research, networking & advocacy at a regional/State-level;

Willingness to (a) be located in Mumbai, or, (for exceptional candidates only) to spend 1-3 months in Mumbai & thereafter be located in Delhi/any State capital of Eastern or N.E. India, (b) travel & multi-task extensively, anchor specific Projects' & project personnel's work, (d) work in feminist workplace environment, beyond '9to-5 office' setting with varied groups of individuals.

Preference:

Extensive and/or in-depth experience in one/more of the following: PMET (programme monitoring, evaluation & training), programme/project management, work on issues of VAW incl. direct crisis-intervention and establishment of services with/in State systems, women's rights/empowerment-based work with the State, advocacy, strategic writing & planning, feminist social work practice.

Renumeration is a consolidated monthly honorarium for contractual appointment, and will be in the range of INR 32,000/- - INR 50,000/- commensurate to selected candidate's experience.
