Background

Tribal Development Department (TDD), Government of Maharashtra was established on April 22, 1983 and the Tribal Development Department has been operating independently since 1984. Since its inception, the department has been working towards sustainable development of Tribal Communities by empowering Tribal youth through Education and employment and learning from the unique culture and values of tribal communities. Maharashtra accounts for 10.35 % of the Scheduled Tribe population of India and is the second largest Tribal Population in the country. In recent years, Tribal Development Department has initiated many innovative programmes in Education, Health, Nutrition and Sanitation and IFR/CFR Land Development for equitable growth of tribal communities. The department is planning to provide a fresh approach to address concerns of access, equity and excellence through a reform based approach and design and implement innovative programs and devising technology solutions for monitoring, evaluation, data analysis for formulating more informed decisions and policies.

Tribal Development Department is seeking MSTDA (Maharashtra State Tribal Development Associates) / Young Professionals who will be placed in field offices (Project Offices, Additional Tribal Commissionerate, Tribal Commissionerate (Nashik), Tribal Development Corporation (TDC, Nashik), Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRTI, Pune) or on headquarters depending on the requirements of the department.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. 1. Applicant should be a graduate or a post graduate from a recognised university in Agriculture, Zoology, Engineering, Law, Medical Science, Social Science, Anthropology, Education etc.

  2. 2. Applicant should have secured at least 50 % aggregate in all years of graduation or post-graduation.

  3. 3. Applicant should have proficiency in Marathi.

  4. 4. Applicant should have at least 3 years of working experience in Rural or Tribal areas.

  5. 5. Candidates having experience in social, cultural, sports activities and those demonstrating leadership qualities shall be given preference.

The candidate will be involved in various projects undertaken by the Department depending on the activities the competent authority may deem fit.

The remuneration will be Rs. 75,000/- per month.

The compensation is, however, negotiable in keeping with their experience and qualifications. The selection board will have discretion to consider whether the selected candidate may be given senior or junior grade based on relevant qualifications and work experience of the selected candidates.
