Applications are invited from Indian nationals including Persons of Indian Origins (PIOs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) and Foreign Nationals* to the posts of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, in the Departments of Applied Chemistry, Applied Geology, Applied Geophysics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Environmental Science and Engineering, Fuel and Mineral Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Studies, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Machinery Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) at the preceding degree in appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout.

Experience

Assistant Professor

Age: Preferably below 35 years.

For a fresh Ph.D., the position will be on contract basis for the first three years, and will be regularized afterwards. For those with three or more years of teaching / research / industrial experience (excluding however, the period of pursuing Ph.D) regular appointment can be made. Candidate should have demonstrated research capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals and conferences.

Associate Professor

A minimum 6 years of teaching / research/industrial experience of which minimum 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor in IITs / IISc Bangalore /IIMs /IISERs or in the institutes of national importance or Indian/Foreign Institutes of equivalent standards/Senior Scientist in the reputed National/International research organizations/ Industries at the time of application. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of Ph.D. students, publications in reputed journals and conferences, patents,

laboratory/course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.

Professor

A minimum 10 years of teaching/research/industrial experience of which minimum 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs / IISc Bangalore / IIMs / IISERs or in the institutes of national importance or Indian / Foreign Institutes of equivalent standards / Senior Scientist in reputed National / International Research Organizations / Industries at the time of application. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area of specialization in terms of guidance of Ph.D. students, strong record of publications in reputed journals and conferences, patents, laboratory / course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.

Pay Structure as per 7th CPC

Assistant Professor

Grade I: Pay Level 12 (101500-167400) with minimum Pay of 101500/- After completion of 3 years of service as Assistant Professor in Pay Level 12, the candidates will be considered for movement to Pay Level 13A1 (131400- 204700).

Grade II: Candidates with Ph.D but with less than 3 years experience can be considered for Assistant Professor in Pay Level 10 (with min. pay 70,900/) or 11 with minimum pay as approved by the Board of Governors.

Associate Professor

7th CPC Pay Level 13A2, Minimum Pay: 139600/-

Professor

7th CPC Pay Level 14A, Minimum Pay: 159100/-

Additional benefits for all the above mentioned positions

1. Professional Development Allowance (PDA) of 3.0 Lacs in a three year block, for attending conference in India and Abroad, paying membership fees of different professional bodies, books and periodicals and contingent expenses.
2. Telephone bill reimbursement up-to 24000/- per annum according to Institute norm.
3. Medical facilities for self and dependent family members.
4. Children Education Allowance.
5. Central DA and Transportation allowances.
6. Leave Travel Concession for home town and anywhere in India.
7. Institute will provide suitable accommodation to all faculty members.
8. Initiation grant of up to 10 lakhs for research project
9. Reimbursement of relocation charges up to a ceiling of 1.5 lakh for joining from India/Abroad to Faculty members will be admissible
10. Faculty joining from government organizations transfer TA and joining time will be admissible as per MHRD/GOI rules.

Notes

1. Candidates called for interview will be reimbursed train fare in AC 2 Tier/ Air Fare (Air India only) by Economy Class by shortest route within India.
2. Without any compromise on qualification, experience and competence, reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories is applicable as per MHRD/GOI rules. The candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) are required to attach the Caste / Category Certificate in the format as prescribed by the Govt. of India. The Institute follows the Central list in the case of SC/ST and OBCs.
3. The institute encourages applications from qualified women candidates
4. Relaxation may be given in experience to outstanding candidates.
5. Higher initial pay is admissible to exceptionally qualified and desirable candidates.
6. Applicants who are employed in Government or Semi-Government Organizations will be required to produce a "NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE" from their employer at the time of the interview.
7. Candidates applying for more than one department should apply separately.
8. Certificates and relevant documents should be uploaded along with application form.
9. Incomplete applications shall be summarily rejected and no communication in this regard shall be entertained.
10. A mere fulfillment of required minimum qualifications and experience does not entitle a candidate to be called for an interview/discussion.
11. The Institute reserves the right to reject any or all applications or it may amend any of the clauses as per the order of the competent authority/GOI.
12. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill the posts advertised.
13. The institute reserves the right to cancel the recruitment without assigning any reason.
14. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from the candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and result of the interview, and reasons for not being called for interview or selection.
15. Canvassing in any manner may entail the disqualification of the candidature.
