1. The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), a Deemed to be University u/s 3 of UGC Act, 1956 is a premier educational institution significantly contributing in the sphere of Human Resource Development for the Defence Forces by way of imparting education, research and training on Defence Technologies to the officers of Armed Forces, Scientists of the DRDO, Technical officers of the Ordnance Factory Board, Directorate of Quality Assurance, Defence Public Sector Undertakings and friendly foreign countries. The Institute is also active in carrying out result oriented research as required for defence and national security.
   
   
2. The Institute is located in a picturesque environment on the banks of Khadakwasla lake surrounded by Sahyadri hills. There is an all weather road between NDA and DIAT. The nearest Airport (30 kms) is at Lohegaon, Pune. The DIAT Campus is well served by the Pune Municipal Transport buses.
   
   
3. DIAT(DU) invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for Faculty positions at the level of Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering as per details given below :-

Masters Degree with 60% marks in Aerospace Engineering (Flight Guidance and Control / Aerospace  Control). Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 60% marks and experience of ten years in teaching, research and / or industry, out of which at least five years at the level of Assistant Professor / Reader or equivalent grade. Candidates possessing at least one degree [i.e. Bachelors or Masters degree] in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engg with above specialisation will also be considered. (ii) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on `Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) as given in the Application form. OR (ii) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential: 1. First class with at least 60% marks in Bachelors and Masters Degree in Aerospace Engg. 2. Significant professional work in Aerospace Engineering and industrial / professional experience of ten years, out of which at least five years at a senior level of Assistant Professor / Reader, provided that the recognition for significant professional experience shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 5 Member Committee of Experts appointed by the Vice-Chancellor.

		(iii) Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable: 1. Teaching, research, industrial and / or professional experience in a reputed organization; 2. Published work, such as 05 research papers in international journals in the last five years, patents filed / obtained, books and / or technical reports; 3. Experience of guiding project work / dissertation of PG / Research Students or supervising R&D projects in industry; 4. Demonstrated leadership in planning and organizing academic, research, industrial and / or professional activities; 5. Capacity to undertake / lead sponsored R&D, consultancy and related activities. 6. A Ph.D. Degree (for candidates from Industry/profession).

Notes:

a) The Selection Committee may consider for higher Entry Pay in deserving cases. b) If Class or Division is not declared at the Bachelors or Masters Degree level, an aggregate of not less than 60% or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is to be considered as equivalent to First Class; c) In respect of CGPA awarded to the candidates on a 10-Point Scale, the following Table of equivalence shall be followed for determining the percentage of marks obtained by them:

3. HOW TO APPLY. The Application Form with the prescribed application fee, recent passport size photograph (affix) and proof of educational qualifications including Ph. D. indicating the year of obtaining the degree, list of publications (with reprints of the best papers), API details and supporting documents (Annexure-II), teaching/research experience, date of birth etc, and other testimonials in support of experience etc. should be sent in a sealed envelope super-scribed Application for the post of PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT / DISCIPLINE OF AEROSPACE ENGINEERING against Advt. No.04-FP-2018 to the Joint Registrar (Admin), Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (Deemed University), Girinagar, Pune-411025. The last date for receipt of applications is 17^th Aug 2018. Applications received after the last date will not be considered.
   
   
   1. GENERAL CONDITIONS/INFORMATION:
      
      
      1. API Scores required to qualify Category-II&III is given at Page-7 of Application form. It may be noted that only those who satisfy the minimum prescribed API scores, will be considered for further selection procedure.
         
         
      2. Incomplete applications will not be entertained by the Institute.
         
         

(iii) The Institute reserves the right not to fill up any or all the positions advertised in case of non-availability of suitable candidates.

(iv)

Women and PWD candidates are encouraged to apply.

(v)

Reservation for Persons with Disabilities [PWD] shall be applicable as per Govt of India rules subject to producing the Disability Certificate on the prescribed format issued by the Competent Medical Board.

(vi)

Age limit. Preferable age limit is 50 years.

(vii) The date for determining the upper age limit, qualification and / or experience shall be the closing date for receipt of application i.e. 17^th Aug 2018.

(viii) Mere fulfilment of the above-mentioned qualifications/ experience etc., does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible for the Institute to interview all the candidates. The Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than that of the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Candidates should, therefore, furnish all the qualifications and experience possessed in the relevant field, over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed.

(ix)

Candidates who are presently employed in Govt/Autonomous bodies etc. should submit their applications through proper channel only or else, they should produce NOC from employer at the time of interview..

(x)

Relaxation in age, over and above the stipulated limit, educational qualification and/or experience may be considered in case of exceptionally meritorious candidates with the approval of the Competent Authority.

(xi)

Reimbursement of travel expenses will be limited to 2^nd AC rail fare by the shortest route to the outstation candidates invited for interview and meeting all qualifying criteria.

(xii) Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fee once paid will NOT be refunded on any count nor can it be held in reserve for any other recruitment or selection cycle/process.

(xiii) NO INTERIM INQUIRY OR CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERTAINED. Candidates are advised to check the DIAT (DU) Website www.diat.ac.in for related information from time to time.
