1. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (MYAS-GNDU DEPARTMENT OF SPORTS SCEINCES AND MEDICINE) (Pay Scale:- 15600-39100+6000 AGP)

Sports Psychology - 1

Sports Physiology - 1

Sports Medicine - 1

Clinical Training - 1

Human Kinetics - 1

Sports Nutrition - 1

Note: -

1. The posts of Assistant Professors MYAS GNDU Department of Sports Sciences & Medicine will be filled on a four years contract on tenure track after following proper procedure for selection of faculty as envisaged by GNDU/ UGC. A Mid Term review will be done after two years by the internal review committee duly constituted for the purpose by competent authority. At the middle of 3 years but before the end of 4th year the progress will be reviewed externally by the group of peers and if found satisfactory they can be considered for regularization after interaction with the screening committee duly constituted. If the Assistant Professor is unable to get a successful review in the above internal review committee or peer review, then he/she will have to wind up and find another position elsewhere.

2. The qualifications for all the teaching posts are as per UGC/MCI norms.

3. Copy of Circular, containing detailed instructions, qualifications, etc. for the posts are available only at the University Website: http://www.gndu.ac.in .

4. The position will be filled on full regular scale and the Punjab Govt. Circular Number 7/204/2012-4FP1/66 dated 15.01.2015 will not be applicable as these positions are fully funded by Govt. of India with no liability on GNDU/ Punjab Govt. for initial period of five years.

5. Persons already in service must send their applications through their employer. All those candidates working in organizations/institutions including affiliated colleges of the university may be allowed to appear in interview without No Objection Certificate with the condition that in case the candidate is selected, no extension in joining time will be allowed. Such candidates are required to give an undertaking on the format available on university website: www.gndu.ac.in. All such candidates will be given standard joining time i.e. one month from the issuance of appointment letter.

6. The candidates are required to apply separately for each specialization.

7. Incomplete applications in any respect or without the prescribed fee or received after the due date will not be entertained.

8. University reserves the right to fill or not to fill up the posts and to call only suitable candidates for interview.

9. The number of posts can be increased or decreased before the interview.

10. Candidates within India may not be considered in absentia. Higher start in the grade may be given depending upon qualifications and experience of the candidates.

11. C.V. of any candidate can be placed before the Selection Committee at the time of Interview.

12. 3% of the Total Teaching posts (category wise) are reserved for Handicapped Category.

13. If Number of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor are large, then a screening test will be held for short-listing.

Circular containing detailed instructions, qualifications, etc. relating to Advt. No.1/2018

General Qualifications for Assistant Professor:

i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or

an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

iii. Candidates, who are, or have beenawarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the UniversityGrants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure forAward of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or the subsequentRegulations if notified by the UGC, shall be exempted fromthe requirement of the minimum eligibility condition ofNET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of AssistantProfessor or equivalent positions in Universities /Colleges /Institutions.

Provided further, the award of degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil./Ph.D. programme prior to July 11,2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;

b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;

c) Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;

d) Candidate haspublished two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal;

e) Candidate hasmade at least two presentations in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work.

(a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Dean(AcademicAffairs)/Dean(University instructions).

iv NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

v. Arelaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and Masters level for the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Differently-abled (physically and visually differently-abled) /Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-creamylayer) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic records during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above arepermissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.

vi. A relaxation of 5% is admissible, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Masters Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.

vii. Good academic record means atleast 2nd class with 50% marks in graduation level.

Details of Posts with Qualification/ Specialization :-

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (MYAS-GNDU DEPARTMENT OF SPORTS SCEINCES AND MEDICINE) (Pay Scale:- 15600-39100+6000 AGP):-

1. Sports Psychology-1

Qualifications:-

i. Masters degree in Psychology with 55% marks with NET Cleared or Ph.D. in Psychology as per UGC regulations modified from time to time.
ii. Experience of working with sports persons will be preferred.

2. Sports Physiology-1

Qualifications:-

i. M.D. (Physiology) /Masters Degree in Physiology with 55% marks with NET Cleared or Ph.D. in Physiology as per UGC regulations modified from time to time.
ii. Working experience in the field of exercise and sports physiology will be preferred.

3. Sports Medicine-1

Qualifications:-

i. M.D. (Sports Medicine) or Ph.D. in Sports Medicine as per UGC regulations modified from time to time.
ii. Working experience with sports persons will be preferred.
iii. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

4. Clinical Training-1

Qualifications:-

i. M.D. (Ortho)/ M.D. (Sports Medicine).

OR

M.P.T. (Sports) / (Ortho) with 55% Marks with NET cleared or Ph.D. in the above fields.

ii. Working experience with sports persons will be preferred.
iii. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

5. Human Kinetics-1

Qualifications:-

i. M.D. (Physiology)/ M.S. (Anatomy).

OR

M.Sc. (Human Biology) with 55% Marks with NET cleared or Ph.D. in Human Biology as per UGC regulations modified from time to time.

ii. Working experience with sports persons will be preferred.
iii. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

6. Sports Nutrition-1

Qualifications:-

i. M.Sc. Home Science/ Food & Nutrition/ Applied Nutrition/ Therapeutic Nutrition/ Public Health Nutrition/ Nutrition & Dietetics / Dietetics & Applied Nutrition/ Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics with 55% marks with NET cleared or Ph.D. in Sports Nutrition as per UGC regulations modified from time to time.
ii. Working experience with sports persons will be preferred.

7. Bio-Chemistry-1

Qualifications:-

i. M.Sc. (Bio-Chemistry) with 55% marks with NET cleared or Ph.D. in Bio-Chemistry as per UGC regulations modified from time to time.
ii. Working experience with sports persons will be preferred

Note: -
