Advertisement for the Post of JRF in DST Sponsored R&D Project

Applications on plain paper with complete bio-data (including contact no./e-mail ID) enclosed with attested copies of supporting documents are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (01 no.) in a DST sponsored R&D project. The details of the project are as under:

Qualifications and Experience

M.Sc./M.Sc.Tech./M.Tech in Applied Geophysics/ Geophysics/ Exploration Geophysics with First class or equivalent grade and qualified GATE/NET. Candidates with prior research experience in computer programming, Gravity & Magnetic data analysis and interpretation will be given preference.

Age

Upper age limit is 30 years at the time of interview. However, age relaxation of 5 years in case of SC/ST/PH/Female candidates, 3 years in case of OBC candidates will be considered.

Fellowship

Rs. 25,000/- (consolidated) per month + 20% HRA for first 2-years and

Rs. 28,000/- (consolidated) per month + 20% HRA for 3rd year for JRF/SRF

Nature and Tenure of

Assignment

The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project sanctioned for a maximum period of three years. Initially the appointment will be for one year and it will be extended till the duration of the project subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate.

Shortlisting/Interview

& TA/DA

Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the advertised position. The award of fellowship does not imply any employment guarantee by the sponsor of the project or IIT(ISM), Dhanbad.
Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on merit.
Candidates with prior research experience in computer programming, Gravity & Magnetic data analysis and interpretation will be given preference.
Shortlisted candidates should appear the interview in person with original degree certificates (one set of Xerox), date of birth proof along with any other relevant documents (like copies of publications, awards, experience, recommendations, etc.)
The date and time of interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidate through email.
No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates called for interview.
The selected candidates will have to join in the project within one month time from the date of communication of the result.

Ph.D. Enrollment

Selected JRF will register for Ph.D. programme in the Department of Applied Geophysics as per the institute norms applicable for the JRF.
