3. Persons already in service must send their applications through their employer. All those candidates working in organizations/institutions including affiliated colleges of the university may be allowed to appear in interview without No Objection Certificate with the condition that in case the candidate is selected, no extension in joining time will be allowed. Such candidates are required to give an undertaking on the format available on

university website: www.gndu.ac.in. All such candidates will be given standard joining time i.e. one month from the issuance of appointment letter.

4. The candidates are required to apply separately for each post earmarked for each Deptt. / Station.

5. Incomplete applications in any respect or without the prescribed fee or received after the due date will not be entertained.

6. University reserves the right to fill or not to fill up the posts and to call only suitable candidates for interview.

7. The number of posts can be increased or decreased before the interview.

8. Candidates within India may not be considered in absentia. Higher start in the grade may be given depending upon qualifications and experience of the candidates.

9. C.V. of any candidate can be placed before the Selection Committee at the time of Interview.

10. IMPORTANT: Applicants for the posts of Professors must attach the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) Proforma as indicative Appendix III Table II(C)/V(c) (duly filled-in all respects by them) and attested copies of supporting documents, with their applications.

11. A minimum score of 400 points for Professors from category II &III of APIs (cumulative).

12. 3% of the Total Teaching posts(category wise) are reserved for Handicapped Category.

13. If Number of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor are large,then a screening test will be held for short-listing.

Circular containing detailed instructions, qualifications, etc. relating to Advt. No.2/2018

General Qualifications:

1. Professor(s)

Qualifications:-

A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/ allied/ relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

(ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/ industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.

(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process.

(iv)A minimum score of 400 points in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based

Performance Based Appraisal System(PBAS), as set out in UGC Regulation 2010 (3rd and 4th amendments2016 vide UGC Notification No. F.1-2/2016(PS/Amendment) dated 04-05-2016 and 11-07-2016 respectively).

OR

B. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

Note:

(a) Candidates are also required to submit their five sets of Bio-data and five sets of reprints of five major publications along with the application for evaluation purpose.Such publications submitted by the candidate shall have been published subsequent to the period from which the teacher was placed in the Assistant Professor stage-II.

(b) A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and masters level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. . The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.

(c) A relaxation of 5% may be provided , from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Masters Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.

(d) The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phil. and /or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as teaching/research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.

(e) Good academic record means atleast 2nd class with 50% marks in graduation level.

2. Assistant Professors

Arts, Humanities, Sciences, Social Sciences, Commerce, Languages, Law, Journalism and Mass Communication

i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

iii. Candidates, who are, or have beenawarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the UniversityGrants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure forAward of Ph.D.

Degree) Regulations, 2009 or the subsequentRegulations if notified by the UGC, shall be exempted fromthe requirement of the minimum eligibility condition ofNET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of AssistantProfessor or equivalent positions in Universities /Colleges /Institutions.

Provided further, the award of degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil./Ph.D. programme prior to July 11,2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;

b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;

c) Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;

d) Candidate haspublished two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal;

e) Candidate hasmade at least two presentations in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work.

(a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Dean(AcademicAffairs)/Dean(University instructions).

iv NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

v. Arelaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and Masters level for the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Differently-abled (physically and visually differently-abled) /Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-creamylayer) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic records during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above arepermissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.

vi. A relaxation of 5% is admissible, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Masters Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.

vii. Good academic record means atleast 2nd class with 50% marks in graduation level.

3. ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY DISCIPLINE

1. ASSISTANT PROFESSORS

i. Essential:

First Class Master's Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.) & Technology (Tech).

ii. Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable:

1. Teaching, research industrial and/ or professional experience in a reputed organization;

2. Papers presented at Conferences and/ or in referred journals.

iii. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
