Goa University invites applications from eligible candidates for the following tenure posts of temporary teaching faculty for a tenure of two yearsand extendable for similar period based on the requirement. Information Brochure

Information Brochure to the applicant for applying to the post ofAssistant Professor in Financial Services for MBA (FS) tenable for twoyears and extendable for similar period based on requirement under self financing programmes.

Applications are invited in the prescribed form online for the posts ofAssistant Professors in Financial Services for MBA (FS). The online applicationform is available at University website www.unigoa.ac.in from 14th May, 2018. Last date for submission of online application form is 31st May, 2018.

Application Fees :

1000/-Rs. 7000/-for candidates from abroad

SC/ST category candidates have to pay only 50% (fifty percent) of the application fees.Physically disabled candidates are exempted from the payment of applicationfees.

The application fee as indicated above can be paid online by way ofNEFT/RTGS transaction or debit card or credit card or any other online mode.The details regarding educational qualifications/experience etc. are given inthe Information Brochure accompanying the application form. Applicationsduly completed in all respects along with the prescribed application fee andrelevant enclosures shall be submitted online on or before 30th May, 2018.

In addition to the requirements stipulated by UGC the followingadditional requirements shall be applicable :

a) Minimum of 15 years of domicile

b) Knowledge of Konkani (Essential)

c) Knowledge of Marathi (Desirable)

However, the above requirements as stated in (a), (b) and/or (c)may be relaxed in case of non-availability of candidates in any givendiscipline and not on individual basis.

Valid non-creamy Caste certificates should be submitted from the competent authority of the State of Goa if the candidate belongs to Other backward class.

The minimum qualifications required and the scale of pay for theseposts are as prescribed in the relevant Goa University Statutes which areformulated on the basis of UGC Regulations 2010. Accordingly, the essential and desirable qualifications/pay scales etc. prescribed for various posts inCommerce are as follows:

PAY SCALES.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: Directly recruited Assistant Professors shall be placed in the Pay Band 3 of Rs.15,600 Rs.39,000 with AGP Rs.6000/-. The minimum qualifications required for appointment to the post of AssistantProfessor shall be:

QUALIFICATIONS:

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

The minimum qualifications for appointment to the post of AssistantProfessor shall be:

(i)
Good Academic record with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in apoint scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master's degreelevel in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalentdegree from an accredited foreign University. Good academic record shallmean that a candidate has secured at least second class at graduate level, or has secured an average of 50% marks in the previous three examinations.
(ii)
Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates should have clearedthe National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar testaccredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

I. NET/SLET/SET shall be the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors.

II. Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance withthe UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree)Regulation, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimumeligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions.

(v)
Candidates who were registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D. Programme prior toJuly 11, 2009, and have been awarded the Degree under the provisions of thethen existing Ordinances/ Regulations of the Institution awarding the degreesshall also be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions subject to fulfillment of the following conditions:
(a)
Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
(b)
Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;
(c)
Open Ph.D. viva-voce of the candidate had been conducted;
(d)
The candidate has published two research papers from out of his/her Ph.D.work, of which at least one must be in a refereed journal;
(e)
The candidate has presented two papers in seminars/conferences basedon his/her Ph.D. work;
Fulfillment of conditions at (a) to (e) above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/ Dean (Academic Affairs)/ Dean (University Instructions).
(vi)
NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Masters Degree programmein discipline for which NET/SLET/SET is not available.

(vii) A relaxation of 5% shall be provided at the graduate and master'slevel for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (Physicallyand visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and forassessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions.

The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scalewherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifyingmarks without including any grace mark.

(viii) A relaxation of 5% shall be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks tothe Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master's Degree prior to19th September, 1991.

(ix)
A relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever thegrading system is followed by a recognized university shall also be considered eligible.
(x)
A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scalewherever grading system is followed) will be required at the Master's level forthose recruited as teachers at any level from industries and research institutions and at the entry level of Assistant Professors, Assistant Librarians,Assistant Directors of Physical Education and Sports.
(xi)
Percentage Equivalence of Grade Points for a Seven Points Scale:

It is hereby clarified that where the University/College/ Institution declaresresults in grade points which is on a scale of seven, the followingmechanism shall be referred to ascertain equivalent marks in percentage:Grade Grade Point Percentage

(x) Percentage equivalence of Cumulative Grade Point Average for a Ten PointScale:

It is hereby clarified that where the University/College/ Institution declares results in CGPA scheme on a 10-Point Scale, the followingmechanism shall be referred to ascertain equivalent marks in percentage:

Instructions

  1. Candidates are requested to read the Brochure carefully provided in the earlier page to check their eligibility for which they intend to apply.

    1. The following additional fees shall be charged by the bank towards online payment services:

      1. o Credit Card: 1.00% of the application fee plus the service tax as applicable.

      2. o Debit Card: 0.75% of the application fee up to Rs. 2000 plus the service taxes and 1.00% of the application fee for more than Rs. 2000. plus service taxes

      3. o NET Banking: Rs. 16.00 per transaction for State Bank of India and Rs. 10.00 per transaction for all other banks.

  1. Candidate has to first register themselves. Once registered, the candidate will receive a mail to his mail id as provided while registering for verification. The candidate should verify the mail id by clicking the link Verify. Immediately after verifying, the candidate will receive one more mail wherein a link will be provided to proceed for filling the application form.

  2. There are 7 parts which are required to be filled. The candidates may keep on saving the various parts of the application. The candidate is permitted to edit any of the parts until it is finally uploaded. If necessary, the candidate may log out and login later to edit or complete the rest of the parts of the application form.

  3. Once uploaded, the candidates will not be permitted to edit anything in the application form.

  4. Candidates who are already employed shall submit their applications after necessary endorsement by the Head of the Institute. Please download the PDF form of declaration and after it is duly filled and signed by the competent authority, a scanned copy of the same can be uploaded.

  5. Candidates should also upload, wherever asked, their degree certificates, statement of marks or other certificates in support of their educational qualifications and experience and of the Matriculation or equivalent certificate in support of their age.

    1. Candidates should also upload while submitting their applications the following documents:

      1. o Caste certificates should be submitted from the competent authority of the State of Goa if the candidate belongs to Other backward class.

      2. o Certificate from the employer stating the pay and allowances drawn at the present.

      3. o Testimonials, (03).

      4. o Passport size Colour photograph of 3.5 x 3.5 cms (avoid white/ light background ) with file size less than 100 kb in JPEG format having 80% coverage of face.

  1. The fee, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances.

  2. Any change of address given in Personal Information part of the application form should be communicated immediately to the Registrar, Goa University at registrar@unigoa.ac.in.

  3. Incomplete application form and application without the requisite fee will not be considered.

  4. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess the prescribed qualifications. No query seeking advice as to eligibility will be entertained.

  5. Candidates called for interview will have to present themselves at their own expenses. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates.

  6. The University reserves the right not to fill up the post advertised.
