Online application forms are invited from the eligible candidates for one post of Assistant Librarian in the Pay Band of Rs. 15600-39100 with Academic Grade Pay Rs. 6000/-)

Eligibility

  1. i) A Masters Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.

  2. ii) Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.

  3. iii) However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph. D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of University Assistant Librarian.

GENERAL CONDITIONS/ INSTRUCTIONS.

  1. 1. Candidates are required to apply online through University website www.islamicuniversity.edu.in . No other means/ mode of application will be accepted. The fee of Rs. 800/- (Rupees eight hundred only) can be deposited in any of the branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank against the auto-generated pay-in-slip with the application form.

  2. 2. Hard copy of application form alongwith a Bank receipt of pay-in-slip (University Copy) complete in all respects duly supported by attested copies of certificates and testimonials should reach office of the Registrar by or before 15th June, 2017. Applications received after the expiry of the due date will not be entertained.

  3. 3. The candidates in employment should forward their applications through their employer.

  4. 4. The selected candidate shall be governed by the New Pension Scheme. However, this shall not apply in case of candidate(s) (if any) of IUST, who is/are governed by Old Pension Scheme.

  5. 5. Non NET/SLET/SET candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Librarian are required to submit a certificate from the concerned University to the effect that the Ph.D degree obtained by him/her is in compliance with the UGC (Minimum standards and procedure for awards of M.Phil/Ph.D degree) Regulation 2009. In case of failure to submit the said certificate and having not qualified NET/SLET/SET, they shall be declared ineligible for the post.

  6. 6. The candidates applying for the post of Assistant Librarian who were enrolled for Ph.D. before July 11, 2009 will be governed by the 4th Amendment, UGC Regulations 2016, which is as under:

Provided further, the award of degree to candidates registered for M.Phil/Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

(a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;

(b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;

(c) Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;

(d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal;

(e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work.

(a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University instructions).

  1. 7. Candidates who have been awarded post graduate/Ph.D degree from Foreign University should enclose Equivalence Certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi without which their candidature will not be considered and application form will be rejected.

  2. 8. Eligible candidates will be informed about the date and place of interview through intimation under certificate of posting/ speed post/ registered post/e-mail whichever suitable. However, University does not take any responsibility for non-receipt or delayed receipt of the intimation by a candidate.

  3. 9. Candidates are advised to remain in contact with University website regarding date of interview.

  4. 10. Candidates will have to produce original documents relating to their qualification, experience etc. at the time of appearing in the interview.

  5. 11. The University reserves the right to defer filling up of any or all posts advertised here-in above, without assigning any reason thereof.

  6. 12. The University reserves the right not to fill up any or all posts advertised herein above without assigning reason thereof.

  7. 13. The University reserves the right to increase/ decrease the number of posts advertised here-in-above.

  8. 14. The University reserves the right to place reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for interview. The criterion for short listing of candidates shall be notified separately (if required) and published on the University website (www.Islamicuniversity.edu.in). Candidates not fulfilling the requirements prescribed here-in-above as on the last date of receipt of applications need not apply.

  9. 15. The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at any time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidate are fake or the candidate has undesirable/ clandestine antecedents and has suppressed any information, then his/her service shall be terminated.

  10. 16. Candidates who had applied earlier and sent their bio-data/academic vitae to the Vice-Chancellor or any other authority of the University must apply afresh online by following the procedure.

  11. 17. The University reserves the right to alter/insert any corrections/additions in the advertisement/website in the event of any typographical error etc. before the last date prescribed for the receipt of applications, for which the candidates are advised to be in the lookout for announcements in the website: www.islamicuniversity.edu.in

  12. 18. An undertaking to be given by the candidate mentioning that the publications submitted by them are free from any plagiarism and if any plagiarism is found later, their candidature/selection shall stand rejected.

  13. 19. In case of any disputes /suites or legal proceedings against the University, the jurisdiction shall be confined to the court of Srinagar only.

  14. 20. The University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate(s) at any stage in the process of selection in case any inadvertent mistake is detected even after issue of appointment letter.

  15. 21. No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates for appearing in the interview.
