Central University of Jharkhand (A Central University established by an Act of Parliament of India,2009) Advt. No: CUJ/CLRM/Advt./2017-18/ 02 Date: 5th March 2018 Advertisement Applications are invited from the citizens of India for filling up the following positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Project Fellow (PF) (Total: 06) at Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi under the various projects funded by Space Application Centre, Department of Space, ISRO, Govt. of India. (Project Period: Three Years). Positions are purely on contractual basis and coterminous with the project. Details of the positions are given below:

1	Retrieval of biophysical parameters and estimation of gross primary productivity in Indian forests using GISAT (Project Code: ISRO GISAT) JRF position: 01	Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Project Fellow (PF) Emoluments Per month: Rs. 25000 + HRA for 1st and 2nd Year and thereafter Rs. 28000 + HRA for 3rd Year as SRF. Candidates, with M. Sc. Degree and without NET if selected, will be paid @ Rs.16000/-+ HRA per month for initial two years and Rs. 18000 + HRA for the remaining periods with the designation of Project Fellow/ Senior Project Fellow respectively. HRA shall be paid as per the University rules. Duration: The fellowship will be offered initially for a period of Six months, which can be extended further depending upon performance of the candidate.	Minimum 55% in M.Sc. / M.Tech or equivalent degree in Remote Sensing/ GIS/ Geoinformatics. The candidate, who are in last semester of their M.Sc. / M.Tech Degree or equivalent may also apply. Preference may be given to the candidates with proven research experience & field knowledge as per requirement of the project. Desirable: Candidates having experience and knowledge in large data handling (satellite data and satellite data products, Census, NSSO, meteorological data etc.), with working knowledge of Hyperspectral/ Microwave Remote Sensing, R, Python, MATLAB software(s), GPS, DGPS etc., and Forest/ Geology/ Flood field survey will be preferred.

3	Monitoring and Mapping of Forest Communities with special reference to Invasive Plant Species using AVIRIS-NG (Project Code: SAC-ISRO AVIRIS NG Project 2) ** JRF position: 01
4	Detailed Methodological, structural and geomorphological mapping and modeling for mineral prognostication in parts of Singhbhum Shear Zone, Jharkhand using Airborne L and S Bands SAR Images (Project Code: Geo-07) JRF position: 01
5	Estimating the spatio-temporal dynamics of Vegetation Biomass in Forest Ecosystems using Airborne SAR (L Bands) (Project Code: Eco-17) ** JRF position: 01
6	Flood Prognosis and Inundation Mapping using Airborne SAR images (Project Code: Hyd-03) JRF position: 01
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: JRF/ RF will be responsible to carry out various image processing activities and GIS analysis. The team will also perform the extensive field activities related to project as assigned by the Principal Investigator. NOTE: The above positions are purely temporary and will be filled on Contractual basis. The selected candidates shall have no right/claim for regular appointment at this Institute, as the engagement is co-terminus with the Project. Candidate has to fill application form as given below.
