Position: Project Engineer /Scientists

No. of positions:2 (two)
Applications are invited for the posts ofProject Engineer/Project Scientistin the Project numbered MCIT /CS /2016257 in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur.

Minimum qualification:

For Project Engineers:

  • B. Tech in Computer Science / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Communication or related disciplines with minimum 3 years of industrial/research experience

OR

  • M. Tech in Computer Science / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Communication or related disciplines

For Project Scientists:

  • M. Sc in Computer Science/Electronics or related disciplines and minimum of 3 years of industrial/research experience
  • PhD in Computer Science/Electronics or related disciplines

Desired qualification:

  • At least 60% marks in academics
  • Either (for 1 position)
    • Experience with Formal Methods for System Specification and Modeling
    • Knowledge of Formal Verification Tools such as SMV, SPIN, UPPAAL, CBMC, Statemate
    • Knowledge of Network Security Protocols and Implementations
  • Or (for 2nd position)
    • Hands on experience in designing co-processors on FPGA, especially for cryptographic functions
    • Hands on experience CAD tools for Chip Design
    • Extensive Knowledge of Verilog/VHDL
    • Knowledge of Secure Hashing, AES, DES, and other cryptographic implementations
  • Fluency in English language to make presentations and report writing

Consolidated Salary range:INR 22000 - 2200 - 44000.

Work:
The candidates tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Either (for 1st position)
    • Formal Verification, Modeling, and Proving Security Properties of Security Software
    • Development of new Security Protocols and Implementation
  • Or (for 2nd position)
    • Development of Hardware Co-processors for Cryptographic functions
    • Development of Plugin Modules for Network Interface cards with Cryptographic functions
  • Prepare presentations and reports.
  • Presentation of work at meetings and conferences

Working hours: 8:30 am to 6 pm (Monday to Saturday).

Duration: Appointment will be made initially for one year and can be extended up to five years or till the end of the project whichever is earlier, subject to satisfactory performance. Performance reviews will be held weekly. The appointment can be terminated at any time if found unsatisfactory.
