JRF Position in Computer Architecture and System Design

Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) invites applications for a JRF position in Computer Architecture and System Design for a research project funded by the Science and Education Research Board (SERB), Government of India.

Description

Applications are invited for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position for a DST/SERB sponsored project on designing and evaluating memory hierarchies for future servers and smartphones using upcoming, non-volatile memory technologies like Phase Change Memory (PCM), STT-RAM and others.

The candidates will work on system design for next generation smartphones and servers. They are also expected to produce IP (Intellectual Property)/patents as well as contribute to academic research publications.

Duration of Position

Initial appointment for one year, extendable up to 3 years based on performance

Required Skills

Candidates are expected to have at least a B.Tech (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science or allied fields, with a valid NET/GATE score. A higher degree (M.Tech/PhD), or prior work experience in the area will be preferable. A knowledge of computer architecture and operating systems is extremely desirable. A successful candidate will have prior experience with working with large, open source software written in C/C++. An advanced degree and prior research experience in the area of computer architecture, operating systems, performance modeling or architectural simulators would also be a big plus.
