Subject:Inviting applications for appointment to the post of Judicial & Expert Member in the National Green Tribunal.

The Government of India has enacted the National Green Tribunal (NGT) Act, 2010 (19 of 2010) for effective and expeditious disposal of cases relating to environmental protection and conservation of forests and other natural resources including enforcement of any legal right relating to environment and giving relief and compensation for damages to persons and property and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. As per Section 3 of the NGT Act, the Central Government has established the National Green Tribunal. It is proposed to fill up the posts of Judicial & Expert Members as per the provisions of the NGT Act, 2010.

2.Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for the following post of Members in the National Green Tribunal:-

1. The recruitment of a Member shall be direct recruitment on term basis and will be purely on merit.
   
   
2. The Tribunal has five places of sitting i.e. Delhi, Bhopal, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune. A Member, upon selection, may be posted at any one of the above places.
   
   
3. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being selected.
   
   
4. The Central Government reserves the right to withdraw advertised posts at any time without assigning any reason and also reserves the right to increase or decrease the vacancies as well as fill or not to fill post and its decision in this regard shall be final.

1. Educational qualifications for appointment to the posts of Judicial and Expert Members`" in the National Green may be seen under Section 5 of the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010.
   
   
2. The eligibility and terms and conditions of the appointment of the candidate will be governed by the provisions of the NGT Act, 2010 (19 of 2010) and Rules made thereunder including the NGT (Manner of Appointment of Judicial and Expert Members, Salaries, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Other Members and Procedure for Inquiry) Rules, 2010 as amended from time to time. The NGT Act, 2010 and Rules made thereunder including their amendments are available on the Ministry's website: www.moef.gov.in.
   
   
3. Eligible and interested persons may submit their applications in the prescribed format alongwith all supporting documents (self attested) to Director, Policy and Law Division, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Level -VI, Jal Wing, Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, Ali Ganj, Jor Bagh, New Delhi on or before 31st March, 2017.
   
   
4. Applications which are incomplete or not in the prescribed format or not accompanied with the details as mentioned above shall not be entertained and would be liable to be summarily rejected by the Competent Authority.
   
   
5. No TA/DA will be allowed to the candidates to be called for interview. The candidates are required to make their own arrangements.
